When it is quiet and you make a loud noise for more than 2 seconds you will scare your Hatchimals Wow and it's eyes will turn blue. The first thing I would say here is that I would recommend you watch the Hatchimals online video instructions first – the leaflet in the pack is extremely detailed (and in multiple languages) and not very user friendly at all.

Even though it re-hatches there are a couple of niggles, such as it doesn’t work on carpet or when you are holding it and the hatching process is not as fun. The egg comes in a big box with an instruction booklet and inside the egg is an electronic soft toy which is part llama and part unicorn. Tickle it's tummy to giggle and if you hold the back of it's head and hold it to your chest at the same time it will be a hug. Sometimes you will find it in surprise moods so if you know how to get it into a better mood that is lots of fun. If you put the egg top on the top of it's head it's eyes will turn off and it will make curious sounds. For example when recording your voice, there are so many things you can do and kids will need help with this. If I am totally honest I was a little bit underwhelmed, as essentially the Llalacorn just extends his neck and pushes the base of the egg up in one complete piece, which you then manually remove to reveal the character (and it’s colour) below. Nested inside a re-hatching egg, the Hatchimals WOW Llalacorn has a neck that can grow up to 32 inches tall and shrink down completely on its own, and comes in one of two colours – pink or purple. We used a table or worktop, so please bear this in mind or you may have some very disappointed kids.

The eyes on our Hatchimals WOW have stopped glowing or changing colour, so I am not entirely sure ours is working correctly. If you touch the back of the head and forehead at the same time again it will wake it from being hypnotised and it's eyes will go back to yellow. This year we have also tested out the fab Owleez flying Owl from Spinmaster, which is another fab toy for Christmas. Every time Llalacorn wakes up, she’s in a different mood so there’s always something new waiting for you to do!Unfortunately for us the Hatchimals WOW didnt quite live up to our expectations, but based on other reviews I think we have just been a little unlucky this time around. However, s ome of the games didn’t work as we expected, or at least not consistently and definitely not in the way the videos portrayed. We have since gone on to review a number of Hatchimals products, from Hatchimals Glittering Garden to HatchiBabies as well as Hatchimals CollEGGtibles and Hatchimals Pixies.

The Llalacorn we revealed was the purple one and she has a pretty face, glowing eyes and a soft fluffy body, Neve was pretty keen to take her out the egg, bringing her in for a little cuddle before we started to play. Christmas is coming and of course Spinmaster have to launch another awesome product in time, or should I say WOW product?

The hatching is by far the girls favourite part, so I felt that Hatchimals WOW would offer something a little different to what we had experienced before.
