All Creatures Great and Small was a British television series based on the books of a Yorkshire veterinary surgeon who wrote under the pseudonym of James Herriot. but I can tell you in all certainty, that I will continue to revisit the original episodes, produced between 1978 and 1990, to wallow in these highly entertaining, humorous and heartfelt episodes of the original series. As well as the vet tales, it also includes events that were taking place at the time as the second World War was approaching.
