Metro Exodus Enhanced requires hardware-accelerated ray tracing support and without it you'll have to play the original version of the game, which frankly isn't a big deal, but since both of these GPUs support ray tracing it makes sense to benchmark with the 'Enhanced' version. Again, performance is fairly similar at all three tested resolutions, the RTX 3060 was just 4% faster at 1080p which we saw identical performance at 1440p. For all this testing we used our Ryzen 9 5950X test system with 32GB of DDR4-3200 CL14 dual-rank, dual-channel memory. Both GPUs were tested at 1080p, 1440p and 4K. Of the 30 games tested, we're going to discuss a few of the most relevant results and then we'll take a look at how these two GPUs compare head-to-head across all games in a single graph towards the conclusion. Without the aid of DLSS, the RTX 3060 Ti can deliver playable performance whereas the 6600 XT simply cannot. Worse still, there's no way to boost the performance of the Radeon GPU outside of lowering other quality settings. Whether or not AMD can tempt us with the Radeon RX 6650 XT has yet to be seen, but we're keen to look into that very soon. Shopping Shortcuts: Performance was also similar when testing with Apex Legends. In short, the 6600 XT was slightly faster at 1080p and then slightly slower at 1440p. Both GPUs proved plenty powerful for this title though, delivering over 100 fps at 1440p using the highest in-game quality settings. The last set of results we're going to look at are for Cyberpunk 2077 and here the 6600 XT was 9% faster using the high quality settings at 1080p. Both GPUs are best suited to 1080p gaming in this title as the slightly dialed down quality settings saw just 44 fps rendered on average at 1440p. Performance Summary

Graphics Processor

If you're confused by the 3060 Ti pricing, it is very close to the 3070 Ti after all, that's because the demand for the 3070 Ti from miners is lower as all 3070 Ti models are 'Lite Hash Rate' and therefore aren't as efficient for cryptocurrency mining. Where the Radeon 6600 XT does shine is when looking at power consumption. In our test with Doom at 1440p, it used no more power than the older 5600 XT and yet it managed to deliver 23% more performance. We're big fans of it, and while it's not as snazzy a solution as DLSS, it will still deliver more performance and look pretty great while doing so. That's a definite win for a mid-range card such as the RX 6600 XT.

These are good questions, though the most important question will be how many GPUs AMD can manufacture and get to the market. There's plenty of evidence that Nvidia currently outsells AMD by a ratio of at least 10-to-1 (based on the latest Steam Hardware Survey, as well as our GPU pricing index data), and that could boil down to production capacity. RX 6600 XT performance won't matter much if gamers can't go out and buy the card. The market has its own rules. As long as there is larger demand than the amount of GPUs AMD can produce, they will keep the prices high. That's just how (free) markets work.Though FSR looks a little underrepresented when it comes to game support, AMD's promise that it's easy for devs to implement has been born out by earnest modders dropping FSR the feature into different games, such as GTA V and Skyrim VR, themselves. Some have even created apps that allow you to add it into practically any Windows or Vulkan game.
