The cover is absolutely gorgeous, and I really love the title and how they both work into the story. Marin has a "panic attack" at one point and the solution was apparently Evie kissing her in the middle of her hyperventilation. But no, it doesn’t have a specific time period, but Marin talks about having a phone so it’s fairly recent.

You feel so creeped out by what is happening because it feels like the characters have no way of getting help as they are isolated in an old house. Evie Hallowell is every bit as strange as her younger sisters, and yet Marin is quickly drawn in by Evie’s compelling behaviour and ethereal grace.Elise Dumpleton is the creator of The Nerd Daily and has a degree in Internet Communications—so all things coding, marketing, and more! I remember holding a clam and imagining opening it and finding something surprising inside—something terrible. While, at times, I felt the story was getting too similar to Bly Manor, I can happily say the uniqueness of this story shines through.

There’s a few moments in here that I actually laughed out loud over the sass of the two girls and the exasperation Marin felt trying to keep up with them. The story follows Marin Blythe, who is moving into Lovelace House as a nanny following her mother’s tragic death. I found that it was very relevant to today’s social struggles in Texas despite being published in 1998 and set in the 70’s. BLY MANOR meets MEXICAN GOTHIC in this haunting romance about a dark family lineage, the ghosts of grief, and the lines we’ll cross for love.

A little young but the relationship was done very tastefully and there was an innocence about it that I appreciated.

Illogical leaps and inconsistent characterizations abound, with lighthearted romantic interludes juxtaposed against genocide, child abuse, and sadism. I'm usually not a big fan of the suspense/thriller genre, but this one has a depth of emotion and characterization that puts it above the typical thriller. Can you tell us about any challenges you faced whilst writing and how you were able to overcome them? In the case of All the Dead Lie Down, the romance between Marin and Evie was realistic, emotional and full of sapphic longing. This has it all: a slow burn sapphic love story, an agonizingly delicious build of tension, creepy children, reveals that made me gasp out loud.Tidligere kriminalreport er Molly Cates skriver nu om hjemløse kvinder, men undersøger sam tidig sin fars formodede selvmord 25 år tidligere. Tremendous new thriller from the award-winning author of UNDER THE BEETLE’S CELLAR and THE RED SCREAM, and once again featuring indomitable Molly Cates as the feisty, funny, flawed heroine. Hovering over the entire family is the spectre of the recent death of Charles Hallowell, father and husband and anchor to normality. Future work will appear in anthologies from Things in the Well, Mortal Realm and Twisted Wing Publishers. Evie also holds the answers to: The horror in the woods, the forest cemetery, the secrets the House hides, her father’s tragic drowning, Alice’s increasingly destructive behaviour, why death seems to stalk the family.I was hooked on the idea of The Haunting of Bly Manor in bookform, and I loved Kyrie McCauley's If These Wings Could Fly, so I had high hopes for this one. At first, I thought she was going to be a cold character who wanted nothing to do with Marin, but oh no, quite the opposite.
