Description

This is a woody aromatic fragrance for men with a heavy emphasis on the green notes. It has a gorgeous woody foundation and the addition of fresh spices and florals make this the perfect cologne for warmer weather. This fragrance was made by Elise Benat and was released in 2017. We are initially greeted with an array of powerfully green herbal notes, which provide the fragrance with an aromatically spicy opening. The florals begin to exhibit a sweet freshness, which detracts from the bitterness of the herbs. We experience a combination of soapy freshness, aromatic green nuances and subtle spices, all of which support the opening notes perfectly. As a performer, it doesn’t disappoint. Projecting a proud 5ft+ radius for the entire performance, and enveloping every room you’ve been in with its lingering sillage. It never dies down throughout its fragrant evolution, and deserves every bit of attention it commands. Overall, this is warm and spicy with a strong aroma of amber making it best for the winter and fall months. It’s best worn in the evenings for formal occasions, but the seductive spices would also make it a great fit for a first or second date! As the fragrance develops, the amber-like, balsamic scent continues with the presence of myrrh, which also adds a slight spice. The subtlety ensures we don’t miss out on the rosy floral geranium, which has a gorgeously aromatic, herbal scent.

I've smelled almost all Amouage fragrances but have bought only two: Jubilation XXV and Gold Man. Most of the Amouage perfumes don't suit me; when I wear them, they make me feel "mature," serious, and their heavy-opaque feel and scents are uncomfortable. I don't think of myself as a careFREE guy, effervescing all over town, a giggle-box. I like sober scents, too, at times, but ones that float, like spirits. Amouage perfumes often sit, heavily, on me. (Yes, I've tried the Sunshines...no thanks.) This is an amber spicy fragrance with strong rose nuances. The citrus notes and musk are strong supports to the rose and it also contains an array of gorgeous spices and woody notes creating a dark, rich scent. Made by Daniel Visetin and launched in 2008, Lyric Man is nowadays seen as one of the best masculine rose colognes. Overall, this is intense – it’s long-lasting and will certainly make its way through all the winter and fall temperatures to dazzle those around you. It’s better suited for the evening but can be worn for formal and casual occasions; if you like smoky colognes then this has to go on your list. Woody-orientals are dripping with opulence. The two signatures complement each other well, enhancing each other's aromas. Iris and chrysanthemum make up the head of this particular parfum. Next heart notes of rose, vetiver, resin and rum move in. As these float away, they reveal the base of leather, resin and ashes. Amouage Perfumes: Price UKThis cologne has a powerfully spicy opening as the pepper notes take the lead. This is comprised of a mixture of fresh and warm spices with strong earthy undertones and an aromatically herbal edge. All in all, these notes make for a beautiful and engaging opening.

This fragrance opens with floral notes; they have a musty, aromatic and earthy scent while the Chrysanthemum has spicy and green facets. They both retain the traditional floral smell making this a mystifying yet natural and light opening. The base notes provide an earthy, warm and incredibly rich foundation for this beautifully complex scent. The incense is rich with an underlying smokiness and blends with the woody notes perfectly. The tonka bean is warm and spicy, continuing the spiciness throughout the entire cologne. During the dry down, we also feel the presence of the musk, which is powdery and textured, which really rounds off the scent. Sunshine Man opens with a fresh and aromatic scent of lavender, supported by a few citrusy notes. Along with these citruses and the lavender is a hint of juniper berry. The juniper is sharp and crisp and almost has a gin-like feel to it. A crisp scent like that also adds to the overall freshness of the scent, ensuring this cologne starts of bright, fresh, and crisp. Overall, this is a fairly versatile cologne, it can be worn all year round but isn’t quite light enough for the summer. It is immensely powerful and can be worn for any occasion, especially a more dressed-up and formal occasion, and during any time of the day; just be careful – a little goes a long way! The opening is definitely not for the faint of heart; it reminds me of Antaeus at this stage, only 15x the intensity, with an added smokey feel to it. It remains in this stage for an hour and a half (at least) as it starts to melt into another personality in the mid. It begins this by shedding those Antaeus vibes and giving off more of an incense heavy wavelength. Similar to Interlude, but not the same. It holds this way for another 2 hours or so, but it continues twisting and turning as it hasn’t yet finished “developing its fingerprint”. During this time it starts to become sweeter and sweeter. A silky feeling, velvety sweetness begins to emerge, and it is in this latter stage that it absolutely SHINES. Such a vivid, GORGEOUS scent it becomes in the end.

Shortly after the opening will you start to notice a boozy scent. This boozy scent comes from the note of brandy, which, in combination with the gin-like juniper berries, creates a wonderful boozy undertone. This boozy undertone is a sharp contrast against the fresh aromatic notes, but it actually goes together great. Honour Man is a woody spicy fragrance released in 2001 made by the perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. This is an intensely masculine cologne comprising of spices, musk, and dark and rich woody notes; it’s breath-taking. The heart of the fragrance contains the majority of the rose, which is the most prominent aroma and remains throughout the development well into the dry down. This rosy, clean, lemony-fresh ingredient is supported by an array of delicate white florals, spices, and aromatic herbs. There is also a subtle green woodiness and nuttiness making this cologne feel like nature in a bottle. In the dry down, this fragrance becomes slightly sweeter and creamier. Notes of tonka bean and vanilla are both appearing, adding their sweet and creamy scents. They do not, however, overtake the aromatic and boozy scent that’s already established. They just make sure the cologne dries down into something smooth and enjoyable. Reflection Man opens with a collection of herbs and spices with minty nuances from the rosemary, which is fresh and tantalizing. In amongst these notes, we also have petitgrain, which is not very commonly used but is a gorgeous citrus note. This comes from leaves and branches so it has a drier, more aromatic scent compared to other citrus notes.

The patience had paid off. Out peeled a subtle rose on the dung heap, underpinned by some subtle smoke that gave it a masculine note. I don't find the campfire ash in the often described pronouncement. (Would also not be my thing) The base notes are generally earthy and woody, building upon these aromas from the heart of the fragrance. The myrrh adds a balsamic sweetness and warmth and has a wonderfully spicy top note; none of the base notes are overpowering allowing us to feel the continued presence of the mint. The heart includes ivy, which is a strong green note with a refreshingly spicy aspect. The other notes are earthy and woody, all with green nuances, which makes this cologne feel natural and cool. The moss adds a slight bitterness reminiscent of the earthy forest floor. Amouage Epic Man is an amber woody fragrance released in 2009. It’s the embodiment of luxury as it encompasses rich woody notes, spices, and incense; it’s smoky and aromatic and is all-around a stunning fragrance. Made by Randa Hammami, this cologne has been a favorite among Amouage fans. Each Amouage fragrance will contain at least one of the traditional Middle Eastern notes. The result is simply stunning and the addition of other notes ensures not all fragrances are alike. Therefore, regardless of your taste, this diversity will ensure you find a fragrance you love.

Dia Man opens with a blend of spices and fresh notes, creating a somewhat subtle, but strong and confident scent. With strong, I don’t necessarily mean the scent itself, as this is one of the softer-smelling Amouage colognes, but the scent itself just smells powerful and masculine. A complete metamorphosis. From yin into yang. Darkness into light. You have to feel it to understand. Interlude Man is an oriental woody fragrance made by Pierre Negrin and launched in 2012. Frankincense and myrrh are often added into fragrances to symbolize spiritualism and here, the perfumers sought to make this feel more contemporary by adding in spices and citrus notes.
