The big update to the Pixel 6 display is its size, but the faster refresh rate, as seen on its predecessor, is welcome too. And aside from the Stormy Black colorway, the colors on offer here are light enough to hide fingerprints pretty well. Google says that on the Pixel 6 it took inspiration from watch making and jewellery and you'll see that as you look over the colours and design. Overall, the Google Pixel 6 isn’t as curved as the Pixel 4 and Pixel 5-series phones, with its more straight edges and less-rounded corners resulting in a look that’s not wholly dissimilar to the Sony Xperia 1 III.

The Pixel 6 also supports wireless charging up to 21 watts, but only on Google’s own second-generation Pixel Stand. The power button will be a slight reach for those with smaller hands, but its placement isn’t terrible. Google finally gives us higher-megapixel sensors worthy of its outstanding photo software, along with its Tensor chipset tuned to Google’s image algorithms. The notch-placed selfie camera cutout now sits in the middle of the screen, switching positions from the top-left corner of the previous phone. The colors are a little more muted than some of the renders suggest, but this could be due to the lighting condition and/or Twitter compression at play here.
