LG OLED48C26LB review - Which?

LG's self-lit OLED TV is the pinnacle of television technology. The screen's pixels are all self-lit, resulting in perfect contrast, 100 percent colour accuracy, and pixel-perfect details for the ultimate viewing experience. You get even more brightness and sharpness with the new OLED evo technology, which has a 9 Gen5 AI processor and Brightness Booster technology for true brilliance in content clarity. Everything is in 4K Ultra HD resolution.Subtitles and audio description information displayed on electronic programme guide more info panel One of the great reasons to buy an LG TV is that it comes with almost every feature available. In fact, pretty much the only compromise you have to make is that it doesn’t support Samsung’s HDR10+ standard. But, what with Dolby Vision still being the market leader in the dynamic HDR space, we don’t see that as much of a problem. There’s also Dolby Vision IQ, which you enable by turning on LG’s AI Brightness Setting while watching Dolby Vision content. This adjusts your screen’s output according to the ambient light in the room.

With its exceptional contrast and rich depth of image, OLED continues to set a standard that’s hard to beat. This LG 48 inch TV is smaller than the more usual 55 or 65 inch LG OLED TV, making it ideal for smaller rooms or simply for a more discreet look in your home.LG’s powerful processing also helps in getting the very best from HDR10 material. Whether watching movies or gaming with HDR10 games, HDR10 Pro intensifies the regular HDR experience. HDR10 Pro automatically adjusts the brightness, enhancing colour and detail for a more vivid picture. The best solution is, of course, to buy a soundbar or dedicated home cinema system. But you knew that, right? Verdict Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits)

Interestingly, it’s the preset called ‘Eco’ that gives the fastest access to the right SDR picture. That’s because the viewing is best without too many of the brightness boosters that would otherwise blow out all of the detail. Add in just a small level of the contrast enhancer, modulate just a touch with the contrast slider and you’ll pretty much have it all. The Alpha 9 Gen 4 does a decent job of upscaling a film that can come across as quite noisy. The filters take care of the worst of that while leaving some impressive skin details in the close-ups. Tom Cruise’s battle-hardened Reacher is complete with pits and scars and everything you’d expect. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output

You work at BID, what a legend.

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits) Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to set the standard. The latest webOS 22 offers improved personalisation and recommendations. You can create up to six personalised profiles, with individual viewing suggestions, sport alerts and app lists. If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended. Set up was quite straightforward, and as the first "smart TV" that I have owned, I was impressed how easily it integrated with my Humax PVR and even replicated the remote controller so I only need one for everything now. For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

LG OLED48A26LA | 48 inch OLED 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV

Extremely thin and light design houses exceptional technology and excellent viewing experiences. The LG C2 TV blends in beautifully with any room in your house.Great buying experience I needed an urgent upgrade to my 32 inch none smart tv so i went to the store as i like to see things in person. the sales assistant was very knowlegeable about the tv's and shown me a few different models and sizes but this LG 48 inch really was amazing in term of picture quality and features. Oh Wow! To see this at Richer Sounds was impressive but to unbox it and place it in our lounge was a magical experience and we started with an Attenborough! It’s the gaming features that will doubtless be the biggest draw for many, though. All four of the HDMI 2.1 ports are rated at 40Gbps and are capable of 4K@120Hz, VRR (in all current formats) and ALLM. Input lag, meanwhile, is less than 13ms. eARC is supported, too.
