Dennis has posted his thoughts on Andrew V. McLaglen’s 1965 Civil War drama Shenandoah, which stars Jimmy Stewart. The film arrives on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics on 7/27. An important regarding these shots: the Paramount+ caps below were taken from a non-HDR display, which does not present the truest look of the color from the new version of the film for still-frame web display.

Streaming rights come and go and vary by region, so the only surefire way to collect these movies in 4K to keep as your own is on disc. And at least for the US version of the set, it comes with a code for a digital copy of each movie, so you can have your handy digital version while also showing your support for the disc format. Available today provides to those inside of it a state of absolute bliss, placing its inhabitants wherever they are atThe fundamental problem was the shoe-horned story; forcing Kirk and Picard together to face off against a common enemy must have look incredible on paper and it's little wonder the script developed the way it did, but it is a huge contrivance, and one that the film never really overcomes, with even that ending failing to lift it from mediocrity. For the first time ever, experience the original four Star Trek films in stunning 4K Ultra HD. Newly remastered from original elements for optimal picture quality, each film is presented with Dolby Vision® and HDR-10. Star Trek: Generations 4K Blu-ray delivers truly amazing video and audio in this exceptional Blu-ray release

The new scan now offers a much more natural look both the actors and the Ba’ku planet, really showcasing just how bad the original Insurrection disc looked. L-R: 2009 vs 2023 edition L-R: 2009 vs 2023 edition L-R: 2009 vs 2023 edition Hot on the heels of the breaking news about Star Trek: The Motion Picture — Director’s Edition getting an unexpected facelift to 4K, Paramount Home Entertainment has formally announced the heavily-rumored addition of the first four Star Trek films to hit the Ultra-HD format as well! While all of the other bonus features on the set are carried over from the previous Blu-ray editions ( fully detailed at the StarTrek.com announcement), the standard Blu-ray discs in this new collection appear to contain the newly-remastered picture — which is great for those of you who haven’t yet made the leap to 4K but are interested in the upgraded visuals on each film. The remastered edition of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) has less detail improvement than the other TNG films, but better color and lighting fixes — gone is yellow-green tone that permeated the film’s previous release.

The Star Trek Universe – And to two up the last one we’ve got a 9-part feature here for your viewing pleasure.

And while we’re taking Paramount, retail sources are also reporting that Adrian Lyne’s Flashdance (1983) is coming to 4K Ultra HD from the studio on 4/11. Each of the four Star Trek: The Next Generation films were released after the show came to an end, so it was through these that the story of Picard and his crew continued on. First up was the Generations, which was released the same year the show ended and saw both iconic captains in Jean-Luc Picard and the returning Captain James Kirk (William Shatner) join forces for the first time ever to save the galaxy as any good Starfleet captain would. Being the oldest of the TNG film set this is one that may have the most eyes on it to see how strong the 4K remastering is, and I’ll once again reiterate that the movie has never looked better – or at least not since its theatrical release, but in terms of home viewing this release can’t be touched. Space... the frontier, the continuing cinematic voyages of the starship Enterprise carry on with the Next Generation crew. Watch as they challenge Malcolm McDowell, the Swedish-sounding Borg, a rogue faction within Starfleet and ultimately Picard's clone. The films varied in quality from one to the next, some simply would have made better stand-alone episodes than feature films, but there are some incredibly memorable cinematic moments to enjoy. Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection Supplements from the original release carry over. This set also includes a remastered Blu-ray disc, whichThis remastered edition features some nice lighting, contrast, and detail enhancements thanks to the new scan from original film elements. Some color correction appears to veer slightly too far into the blue tone in a few darker sections the new release, however it’s not obvious in the majority of shots and seems to be a limited issue. This exceptional collection includes four Ultra HD discs, as well as four remastered Blu-ray discs with hours of previously released bonus content. Fine details like the piles of straw in which Data and Artim play are no longer a messy blur, Geordi’s sunrise now actually looks like the sun is warming up the Ba’ku valley, and visual effects shots that once had an odd orange-red vibe are shifted more properly to a golden color tone.
