The opening of Pure Malt really sets the stage. This is a a rich and enticing fragrance. It kind of reminds me of B*Men also by Thierry Mugler but way better with less spice and an enjoyable fruitiness. Pure Malt feature a boozy type of aroma, It's beautiful, like a fine whiskey. There is a warm sweetness in the same vein as Pure Havane but with alcohol in lieu of tobacco. The start features the blend of fruits, vanilla, whiskey, and a bit of the patchouli. The patchouli comes through to give it a warm bakery feeling, like it does in so many women’s perfumes. However here, it just helps to shape the alcoholic sweetness. Firstly, it isn't reminiscent of the original A*Men and I'm sure thats why this is getting a lot of hate. To be honest, it could be a stand alone fragrance. However, Pure Malt never relinquishes its very masculine energy or fall into a trap of being too ambiguous. I found myself constantly trying to get a whiff of this lovely gourmand scent throughout the night that I was wearing it. It was just enjoyable and pleasant to wear. Even though this has better balance than original A*Men, everyday use would definitely induce scent fatigue in me. It needed to lose the sweet finalé: a singular flaw that compromises its versatility. Not then an automatic choice for interviews, weddings or formal occasions generally; but good for the office and the pub. It has decent sillage and projection. Bentley for Men Intense EDP is a superb, strong, boozy rum, smokey incense, woody, leathery, resinous, spicy, and green fragrance.

Projection wise, Pure Malt is fairly strong, but not crazy so. You’ll notice that it’s there and so will other people around you but it shouldn’t choke anyone out unless you went overboard. Overall, I think it’s great but I don’t think it’d be for everyone. It can be quite pricey, it is limited by the climate you live in, not for those who don’t like the smell of malt (obviously), etc.

The end game seems similar to original A*Men. Pure Malt winds up confectionary-like because of the dominant vanilla. Sniffing my wrist after seven or eight hours I smell toffee, though I'm surprised to discover some residual patchouli lingers at this very late stage. I'd be rating Pure Malt appreciably higher had the whiskey and peat notes properly lasted into the dry down and blunted the potent vanilla. With a 60-year-long tradition, Ajmal presents a very special and luxurious Signature collection which includes three extraordinary fragrances based on wood: Amber Wood, Hatkora Wood and Santal Wood. The name of the collection is W Series and it provides three niche compositions as additions to the current rich offer of the house of Ajmal, which will provide top quality raw ingredients to customers in the Middle East. Amber, Hatkora lemon and sandalwood can be found in the ingredients of the three new perfumes and they originate from the countries best for their origin, ensuring additional value for fragrance connoisseurs. It is sophisticated, elegant and universally appealing, wearable in almost any scenario of modern life, has better longevity and silage than its predecessor, and as so many others have noted, I can't stop smelling my wrist whenever I'm wearing it. It's all built on the A*Man foundation The original scent DNA is definitely there and that's good. I like the scent.

A*Men Ultimate is a reasonably pleasant perfume. It only has a fairly intimate projection and it lasts for about nine or ten hours on me. I don't propose to judge it in relation to the rest of the A*Men flankers or the original itself but simply to judge it on its own merits. I have the 2013 version, and with obvious exceptions, I don't get into the reformulation thing. But the performance I get is pretty decent. Strong fairly boozy projection for the first hour, moderate projection that is more sweet than boozy for the next several hours, and then a skin scent after around 6 hours, but if I get moving it activates and projects harder. I wear this in 70 degrees or less, which where I live means end of fall through beginning of spring, and usually as an evening scent. This fragrance is well-suited for men of all ages and styles. It is not too overpowering, but it is still noticeable enough to make a statement. A*Men Ultimate is a great choice for men who are looking for a signature scent that is both stylish and sophisticated. This is an amazing scent, and a huge improvement over the original, for me. It may even be one of my top ten favourites. Reading the description Pure Malt sounds like it should be a dogs breakfast. Trying it for real, it opens with a fruity, malty mix, the light peat damping down the sweetness with something resembling an hearth-like earthy smokiness. The fruitiness bestows more a semblance to Irish whiskey in that the subtle distinction is created by at least one of several well known Irish whiskey brands maturing its whiskies in Madeira, Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon-seasoned casks. Newer boozy smells are boozier, sweet gourmand fragrances are sweeter, and there is more frequently an emphasis on realistic expressions of food and drink. While I certainly enjoy those, I think they also show how balanced and ahead of it all the Mugler A*men line was, and for many, Pure Malt is the best of this line. Killian Single Malt EDP is a great, sweet, vanilla, fruity plum, boozy whiskey-like, and resinous fragrance.

I don’t see my preferences changing any time soon, but you never know. That’s the beauty of this hobby. But my main point is that this smells very pleasant. Ultimate starts off very fresh, with a shortlived citrus note. Then develops into a sweet, almost sugary scent (which makes sense as they've listed a sweet cappuccino note rather than a rounded coffee note). And on my skin, it stays that way for the remaining life of the scent. I don't get much woody or green notes. I have spend my hard earned money on the whole set with showergel, bodybutter, hair perfume and so on.Amber Wood reminds me immediately of Mugler A*Men Pure Malt, but just a bit more powdery and sharp via the inclusion of iris, but the amber and wood with patchouli in Amber Wood more or less recreate the base of coffee and patchouli mixed with the booze in Pure Malt. Wow Rating: 9/10. This is a bold and very pleasant fragrance that is guaranteed to cause a good impression. As the scent wears on, I feel that it becomes even better than the opening act. The berry-like fruits begin to fully emerge and give the cologne a distinctive feel. Nonetheless, they are only playing a supporting role at this stage. However, Pure Malt never relinquishes its very masculine energy or fall into a trap of being too ambiguous. I found myself constantly trying to get a whiff of this lovely gourmand scent throughout the night that I was wearing it. It was just enjoyable and pleasant to wear.

So, there's no lingering smell of whiskey. Applying this won't have the lady of your dreams wondering if you are a dipsomaniac, nor the police reaching for their breathalyser should you find yourself pulled-over. Thierry Mugler Pure Malt is a great boozy fragrance, the most prominent opening notes are sweet whiskey and malt combined with sweet fruity accords, some green/earthy tones, and smoky woods. The whiskey note found in the opening combines with the malt note creating a boozy fragrance that is pleasant but it not necessarily smells like whiskey alone or malt alone, the combination of both creates a different, unique, and fantastic tone. The bergamot and orange described as opening notes, combine among other fruity notes, to the wearer, they just smell like fresh and sweet fruits. The coffee found in the mid notes, adds a soft bitter taste that adds depth to the fragrance and enhances very well the boozy notes; the patchouli adds a clear and distinguishable green note, not strong but noticeable, and, the cedar adds its aromatic woody note that is well known for. A few minutes after the initial application, Thierry Mugler Men Pure Malt reaches dry-down and with it, the musk develops joining the green patchouli; the vanilla seems to maintain the sweet tones initially created by the opening fruit notes; the amber develops a soft powdery tone which further improves the projection of the fragrance; finally, the peat adds its malt-like tone and bumps up the smoky scent of the fragrance. Once Pure Malt has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a sweet boozy, fruity, and woody fragrance with some musky and smoky accords. Thierry Mugler Pure Malt feels mature, playful, bold, casual, and pleasant. I doubt it’ll be what you’re looking for in a daily wear, but as a secondary option you break out on occasion, this is a definite yes. I’ve been really digging scents that feature a boozy type of aroma, and Pure Malt is beautiful, like a fine whiskey. There is a warm sweetness in the same vein as Pure Havane but with alcohol in lieu of tobacco. As the fragrance progresses, it becomes more mellow and sweet with the vanilla, amber and caramel notes coming to the forefront. The malt, whiskey and fruits get quieter and quieter as the fragrance dries down but they're still there.
