I feel compelled to comment on the cute factor of the pink and blue cat paws, and the strength of the magnet. This was the feature that I did wonder about as I could imagine the paw slipping as you build up speed but it honestly didn’t, it’s a very well designed game. I found this a great game, full of fun with a competitive edge. The recommended age of seven years seems about right although the younger grandchildren were keen to join in the fun. Obviously caution is needed with younger children due to the small ball missiles. Helping me to review A game of Cat and Mouth were my 9 year old daughter and almost 7 year old son, and as much as I would like to say that I annihilated them with my fast-thinking and speed it was a pretty close match each time. It is one of those super fast games where you can start to panic a bit and lose your focus if you aren’t careful, so there was a lot of screaming and tactical name-calling in our house to distract oneanother. Playing against my competitive husband was hilarious as it went on for so long that the kids gave up cheering and wandered off. The cat mouth is a impressive plastic piece with the scoring dials acting as the cat's eyes. Brilliantly these dials are connected so only one of you needs to update it when you score. The arena itself looks like a weird tennis court with one of you sat at each end. Some games are brilliant because they make you feel clever. Others take you on a narrative journey. Some games are good fun for all ages. And some games let you fire tiny balls with magnetic catapults to win points. It didn't have to be so clever or pretty and I still would have loved it. But the Exploding Kittens team have done a great job of making this feel like a premium product while also not breaking the bank. This is an absolute bargain even at RRP. The cover is as endearing as the game, as the cosy looking cat snoozing on the quilt represents exactly whatyou’ll want to do, in sewing the cosiest quilt to attract the cuddly cat. You’ll have quilt boards and patch tiles and kittens, and putting the right combination of tiles onto the board awards you cats. It’s a fun little game, letting you emulate that feeling of owning a cat and looking at them sleeping so peacefully (before charging around the house like a bull in a china shop upon waking).
