Description

C4 has 1.6g of beta-alanine per scoop which is not enough to use as an initial loading phase, but can be sufficient for maintenance if you have already been supplementing with beta-alanine for 4 weeks or more. Creatine HCl Unfortunately lots of users have reported side effects – namely a tingling sensation known as paresthesia. We will go into more detail on this later. Creatine Nitrate (NO3-T®) (1g) Caffeine is one of the primary ingredients of pre-workout energy drinks. How much caffeine is there in a pre-workout? Well, that depends on the product, but you’ll typically find between 100mg-420mg of caffeine in a pre-workout, which is the same as between 1.5 to 6 espresso shots, approximately. Creatine Caffeine Anhydrous – This one doesn’t need much of an introduction. Caffeine is one of the most popular stimulants on the planet. Each serving of C4 Original Pre Workout contains 150mg of Caffeine. To put this dose into context, you’d expect to find about 100mg of Caffeine in a regular-to-strong cup of coffee. Its main benefit is boosting your immune system and protecting against illnesses such as the common cold.

We got 4 people together (OK, 3 plus me) to test all of the pre-workouts that we bought — multiple times each — and ranked them based on our testing. In the same way that the low amount of ingredients helps make for a better taste, the low doses of ingredients help make for a product that mixes better. The worst tasting pre-workout we tried — it’s not disgusting, but just…you’re getting this for what it offers, not what it tastes likePolydextrose, Natural & Artificial Flavours, Citric Acid, Calcium Silicate, Malic Acid, Sucralose, Beta Carotene, Acesulfame Potassium. Again we don’t see any reason to supplement with B6 in a pre-workout as you can get this in any multi-vitamin. It won’t boost gym performance. Folic Acid (250mcg) Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is commonly added to pre-workout supplements because it can provide an appealing sour taste. Containing a very high dose of caffeine (250 mg anhydrous and an added 70 mg from di-caffeine malate), Total War could even make you feel a bit uneasy in the beginning.

Whether you should cycle your preworkouts, or if you should take them before every session, will very much down be personal preference and noticing how your body is reacting. If you notice that you’re not feeling the benefits of your pre-workout like you used to, it might be time to take a break of a few weeks before returning to use it again. Once you’ve taken a break, you should notice the difference again. There is no set clinical dose of caffeine that is accepted since individual reactions to caffeine vary greatly. I couldn’t find any definitive studies that clearly outlined proper HCl dosing. The studies that I did find used 1.5 to 5g of Creatine HCl per day. Oftentimes, the negative tastes associated with pre-workout are because the raw ingredients have very sour or bitter tastes to them. Not only are there nearly a dozen variations, but the same product can have different formulas depending on which country you are in.C4 has caffeine (a medium amount), creatine nitrate, arginine alpha ketoglutorate (AAKG), carnosyn beta-alanine, teacrine, and a few other ingredients. This stuff works! You’ll definitely feel energized and alert when you hit the gym after a glass of C4 Pre Workout. Taken prior to exercise, caffeine has been shown to improve nearly every facet of exercise performance like high-intensity activities, muscular endurance and strength, and cardiovascular performance. A 2021 review by Wax et al[2]. analyzed some 180 articles evaluating creatine’s efficacy on athletic performance. The research was quoted to say: Incredible Flavours — With billions of servings of C4 branded products sold, the C4 brand has been setting the standard for great flavor for over a decade.*

Arginine is an amino acid that acts as a vasodilator, opening the body’s blood vessels to allow blood to pass more easily through the body.C4 Original comes in a variety of juice-like flavors that dissolve almost entirely, giving a drinking experience similar to pre-mixed drinks like Gatorade.

You probably shouldn’t take them at night based on the caffeine levels included in most of them, unless you opt for a low-caffeine pre-workout supplement. After testing drinking these products in the morning, afternoon and evening, we can confirm that consuming them in the evening is just asking for trouble with regards to getting to sleep! What is the Best Pre-Workout Supplement? Pre-Workout In conclusion we can say C4 is a solid pre workout blend, but there seems to be a lot of fan boys trying to make out that it is the perfect product. In any case, 1g of creatine is not a lot. It should help give you a little tiny boost in the gym, but serious lifters who “dose” creatine regularly take it in much higher amounts. It’s a fresh taste and doesn’t feel overpowering when mixed into 500ml of water. This definitely makes staying hydrated easier!

Mix together 1 scoop (6 g) with 6 fl. oz. (177ml) of water. Consume 20 to 30 minutes before training. So far, the studies that have looked at l-arginine as a supplement for improving athletic performance have had mixed results as best. You know when you’re running on the treadmill, or doing super high reps of weight training, and your muscles literally start burning?
