On April 18 2013, the same day the new Tomodachi Collection arrived, a mint and white 3DS XL was made available for ¥18,900.

The 3DS XL was originally released August 23 in Australia in blue-black, red-black, and silver-black colour combinations.Better 3D, C-Stick Camera Control, Improved CPU, Longer Battery Life, NFC Support, Micro SD Card, HTML5 browser, Additional ZL and ZR shoulder buttons. It started to come out in Europe, South Korea and North America afterwards as a limited edition system. The Japanese version of the Nintendo 3DS system in Pure White colour is used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. It launched in a silver design with a Mario and Luigi crest saying “we are twins”, a limited edition red design with the same crest in gold, and a mental red and white Mario design that’s white on the inside.

The interior of the system is either black or white, while the front and back of the system are colored in a secondary color. The North American version of the New Nintendo 3DS XL system is used in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In 8 November 2013, Nintendo of Japan has team up with ISP to launch Nintendo 3DS LL Mario White Edition and Mario Silver/Black Edition for limited time.The Nintendo 3DS Flare Red color variation was discontinued in Japan on October 2012, [7] and in North America and Europe at an unknown date. The Nintendo 3DS Aqua Blue color variation was discontinued in Japan on May 2012, [2] in North America on October 2012, [3] and in Europe at an unknown date.
