Combat Belt Batman: The top three are going to be practically interchangeable. This Batman has a perfect suit, tons of cool accessories, and a clean, classic paint job. I honestly can’t think of a single thing I’d change. Batcave Command Central: While playsets can be relatively hit or miss, this one definitely hits. Multiple levels of play, including facades for Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and the exit for the Batmobile, and it even looks like it can fold up for ease of storage and transportation. Can’t go wrong with any of that. Templeton was just as excited to be working on the comics as he was to be working on the action figures.

Seven chapters of the Batman: The Adventures Continue miniseries have already been released digitally and a print edition will soon follow. With the first wave of action figures now in stores as well, there has never been a more rich and exciting time to be a Batman: The Animated Series fan. At least, not since the series left the airwaves. The first Batman Beyond action figure line made a similar mistake to The Batman Animated series toy lines. Their figures showcased many different versions of Batman Beyond, but didn’t include many of the other characters from the series. The first set included designs like Manta Racer Batman, Lightning Storm Batman, Thunderwhip Batman, and Hydro Force Batman. In his free time, Shane loves going for runs and playing with his 16-year-old beagle Butterscotch. Butters for short, she has been the greatest love of his and inspires him everyday, both creatively and emtionally. On top of that, he's now a huge collector. He loves Funko Pop, McFarlane Toys, and Neca's huge line of horror figures. In the last two years he has been going to a lot of conversations to buy an unhealthy amount of figures. This has also allowed him to meet some of his favorite filmmakers/actors like Mike Flanagan, Matthew Lillard, John Carpenter, Grace Caroline Curry, Steve Burns and Kathryn Newton. DC Direct first arrived at the idea of creating new action figures in the style and spirit of the classic Batman: The Animated Series after seeing the continued demand for their bestselling action figures based on the series. DC Comics digital-first mini-series available in both digital and print editions; series complete and on saleBruce Wayne’s Car: If this were a Hot Wheel or something, I might like it more. As part of a line with much more interesting vehicles and characters, it’s just kind of bland. Bruce Wayne: Imagining Bruce Wayne donning his Batman costume only for it to be this super bulky outfit makes me laugh. The fact that the boots and leggings are the same color, so it looks like he’s wearing jammies, makes it all the funnier. Clayface: Ol’ Matt Hagen here is big, lumpy, and kind of gross, as he should be. Excellent sculpt, and the firing mace hand is just flat-out awesome. While as a kid we would understandably gravitate more toward the hero figures, I think as adults we can appreciate a truly well-made villain all the more. Especially when it’s as cool as Clayface here. Aero Bat: The nice, compact design is fun, and the fact that the windshield has eyes painted on it so the whole vehicle looks like a giant Batman face is just beautiful.

High Wire Batman: Might have made more sense as a Robin figure, because circus and what not. Cool accessory and play action, and I kind of dig those yellow highlights on the suit. The New Batman Adventures set led into a different toy line from Hasbro called Mission Masters, which had a total of four toy series. It also led to some interesting action figure and tech mashups. The Batman: The Animated Series action figures did so well for DC Collectibles that they released more figures in 2016. In January they unveiled a small grouping of figures, which included Robin and the Joker. These two would mark the last of the figures that have been currently released through DC Collectibles, but there are still many more figures to come. DC Comics digital-first series available in both digital and print editions; Season One, Two and Three complete and on sale Infrared Batman: Love the look of the suit itself, as the deep red as kind of an update of the Batman: The Movie poster (which I think I’ve said about another figure in another line). The accessory is just kind of whatever, not moving the needle one way or the other. It’s great to see classic DC characters we never had a chance to use in the animated series, like Azrael and Red Hood, appear in animated toy form,” says Dini.

The Riddler: Not a bad Nygma at all. Kind of wish the question mark bazooka had more color, but being able to type “question mark bazooka” made my day, so it’s a wash. I get to work with Paul again and Alan for the first time” he reveals. “You couldn't ask for better scripts to inspire this happy bat-artist.” Batcycle: Usually I think miniature motorcycle figures are weird, because they look strange without a rider. The Batcycle design is so sleek that it doesn’t really matter, though, so this looks cool. The Joker: Genuinely love the gas mask, and the gun that squirts water is a nice touch. Something about this just seems a bit plain and uninspired, though, even if I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Battle Helmet Batman: Even though the blueish hue of the suit isn’t quite a match with the show, I think it looks stellar. Give him a better accessory and this might be the best Batman in the line, even if he’s a mailaway toy. What happened after the show ended…?” wonders Fletcher. “All of these characters had been created, like Deathstroke, Red Hood and, most recently, the Batman Who Laughs. So we said, ‘This could be a cool way to continue the line and really create something fans would want to own.’” The first movie that he remembers being a passionate fan of was the first Toy Story movie. This led to a love of animated movies and television series. In addition to classic Disney animation and the Looney Tunes shorts, Adam is also a big fan of animation from the 1990s. This includes TV shows like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and Goof Troop. He is also a big fan of shows like The Simpsons and Futurama. Hasbro also released figures for the direct to video Batman Beyond movie, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. The figures included in this set were Golden Armor Batman, Gotham Defender Batman, Gotham Knight Batman, Rapid Switch Bruce Wayne and Arkham Assault Joker.

From that thought arose the idea of designing figures based on some of DC’s most beloved characters that had never appeared on the animated series or utilizing popular characters that had been created after the show had aired.
