They have small standard ear cups. I have small-average ears, and a big head for hats/headphones. I think these are very comfortable, but that's because I don't have big ears! You would definitely want to upgrade the ear padding to a larger size if you have large ears. The HD 450 SE, however, did not succumb to this problem, with the flatter profile of Sennheiser’s audio tuning giving everything room to breathe, allowing you to easily identify each instrument. How to use the HD 450BT controls

Controls: Slightly challenging to initially learn (lots of buttons bunched together), but it's pretty logical, and eventually you'll get a hang of it. Voice Assistant button works as expected, as long as it's properly setup.

They have 32mm drivers and I’m a fan of the flat and nicely balanced tuning that delivers clear and precise audio across the musical spectrum. Thanks to the 32mm drivers, which deliver a frequency range of 18Hz to 22kHz, you will be accompanied by lovely sounds. Battery life is impressive, at 30 hours. I found I could easily manage a couple of days between charges. Sound Quality The Sennheiser HD 450BTs aren’t the best sounding noise-cancelling headphones out there for the money. Nor are they the easiest to control on your head.As I mentioned earlier, it has a virtual assistant button for Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant to make things easier for you. Besides that, for simple usage, there’s also the Sennheiser smart control App that provides an equalizer, podcast mode, and firmware updates. On the latter, you can drag a pointer around an equalisation map to adjust the balance towards more bass or treble. There’s no harm in favouring either to get a bit more low-end domination or top-end sparkle although, predictably, going extreme either way makes them pretty unlistenable. As many others have said, they are not the most comfortable headphones. Quite snug fit. The headphones I'd say are pretty good quality, but I would have liked a different material for the headband (rubber) for the amount of money you pay for them. I do like the smooh plastic feel on the outside but am a little worried about the rubber wearing out over time - problems with peeling rubber. The headband is quite sturdy, unlike as soft as I’ve seen in most headphones, which makes it great for people with long hair since it won’t pull the hair. I’ve had a bad experience with soft silicone headbands before. They didn’t quite shut out the level of noise that my Sony WH1000X M4 did on the same flight, but they were not too far off.The latter is ideal for watching movies and playing games without losing synchronisation between sound and vision. And the Bluetooth 5.0 connection remained strong and unbroken up to 25 feet away from my iPhone 12 Pro, Realme GT and M1 MacBook Pro.
