Description

Didn't know how common symptoms are until I read this. I feel so much better after following advice and getting the right treatment. That’s how this book has come about. We are going to tell you the truth, so you can make an informed decision about your life and your body … mic drop. Presenter, fitness guru, author and mother, Davina McCall is one of the UK's most loved TV personalities. Tying in with her healthy lifestyle, Davina has also released a number of healthy eating cookbooks.

Menopausing will also celebrate the sharing of stories, enabling women to feel less alone and more understood and talk openly and positively about menopause. No more scaremongering: just evidence-based info,no shame: real women, real menopause stories, real empathy, real community, honest, no-holds-barred advice: Dry vagina? Zero sex drive? Hair loss? We’ve got it covered.Who can we trust? Who has the correct information? And how can we get it? It’s a disgrace that we even have to ask these questions. Such an informative book! Gave me the information I needed and the courage to finally go to the doctor. The presenter of the show, Lorraine Kelly, also agreed that this practice is “the thing that gets you through” menopause. Those tests were clear, thankfully, but I dumped the compounded HRT and went cold turkey until a friend recommended Dr Louise Newson, a campaigning menopause specialist with a clinic in Stratford-upon-Avon employing 40 doctors and there’s still a three-month waiting list – most of the patients are women who have been refused HRT by their GPs. Dr Newson solved my problems in an instant and prescribed plant-based body-identical hormones, made from yams. These are also available on the NHS – micronised progesterone and transdermal oestrogen gel or patches – which the British Menopause Society says have “no or lower risk of breast cancer” compared to the old oral combined pills. I just wish my GP had told me about body-identical HRT in the first place. Menopausing will also celebrate the sharing of stories, enabling women to feel less alone and more understood, and talk openly and positively about menopause.

That’s how this book has come about. We are going to tell you the truth, so you can make an informed decision about your life and your body. She said: “I think keeping your muscle strength is really important so strength training, which feels really counterproductive sometimes.

Toys

If you’re looking to read a book that does nothing but extol the virtues of HRT and nothing else, this is the book for you. If you’re looking for information other than the usual claptrap in books and articles about menopause, forget it. After reading story after story about HRT and how it’s a miracle drug that solves all your menopausal problems (and some others!) at the expense of offering anything new or non-HRT related, I gave up. Didn’t even finish it. Six months after the book was released, it continues to rank highly in the bestselling book charts.
