Ben had trouble feeding from a bottle and became ill with a fever and suspected meningitis. Agatha refused to seek medical attention for him, fearing that his true identity would be discovered if she took him to hospital. Eventually, her boyfriend Hayden and his mother forced her to take ‘Rory’ to the surgery, but when the doctor insisted on admitting him to hospital, Agatha ran away with him, throwing away her mobile phone so that she couldn’t be traced. Robotham uses a dual narrative to tell the tale. It soon becomes apparent that Agatha is an unreliable narrator whose her awful childhood is meant to mitigate her actions as an adult, although some of those affected have difficulty seeing it this way. Meg’s emotions are more relatable and certainly her anguish is well-conveyed. This one was all kinds of juicy. You have perfect life Meg, she has handsome husband and two cute kids. Now she is pregnant with baby number three. She gets to stay at home with the kiddies and work on her mommy blog.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Little, Brown Book Group/Sphere and Michael Robotham for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! Pregnancy brings with it tons of uncertainty, highs and lows, and the burden of knowing that you're not always in control. Not even the little details that you've planned and certainly not the big details that you've anguished over. Michael Robotham is an Australian writer who was working as a journalist in London in 1994 when baby Abbie Humphries was stolen from Queen's Medical entre hospital in Nottinghamshire. Her parents, Karen and Roger Humphries, didn't know whether their daughter was alive or dead for 17 days. Eventually she was found in the suburban town of Wollaton. How true to the story is The Secrets She Keeps?

If only Meghan hadn't gone to that store. If she'd done anything different that day. Maybe that would have changed everything.

This books was incredibly well written👌🏼 I loved that the characters felt like real people- the dialogue flowed naturally and felt authentic. Maddie and Connor were both clever people with sharp edges, and it was really fun to watch the sparks fly between them! The suspense was also *really* well done- I felt low-level anxiety the whole time! I liked Connor and Maddie--they gave some pretty good banter--and figuring out what ultimately was going on was a challenge. The actual villain seemed to take things a bit far toward the end (an issue I think I had with the first book too, if memory serves) but still, this was a fun story. It could work as a standalone if you haven't read the first book, but if you have you'll be happy to find some of your lingering questions are finally answered here.Such a twisted tale, you won't know whether to feel sorry for the characters or fear them. (Personally, I felt a little of both, heavy on the fear.) The Secrets She Keepsis a 2017 novel by Michael Robotham, a former investigative journalist turned ghost writer, now a leading Australian crime author. The book is fiction, but its central plot – the abduction of a new-born from a hospital hours after birth – is reported to be inspired by a real life kidnapping. The romance is not descriptive and dirty. The romance is quite and slow. It is enough to build the pace of the story. I like the chemistry between Connor and Maddie. Its sweet. Princess Charlene's hoop earrings perfectly complement her pixie cut as she wraps up in chic wintery coat
