I feel like I probably would have enjoyed it more had I read the rest of the series, because some parts were lost to me - but I enjoyed reading about this world and will add the rest of the series to my TBR! Personally i did not think it was a super slow burn, it was mainly enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience. This dude wants to be human because he can see the beauty in beginning and ending, he doesn’t want to say goodbye to friends that die because they are mortals, the raw moments of him not pushing Sunnëva with the truth of the gate because he knew how much she struggled with letting herself be free and feel. If you like enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, and betrayal/ revenge stories, this one might be for you!

Interesting world building with what feels like pieces that will connect back into later parts of the main story, while being just as good as a stand alone. Things do not go as planned and events lead to Jökull giving her the impossible choice of becoming his bride or she and her entire clan dies. My biggest complaint regards Xara and her role as a crime lord/revolutionary, because it just wasn't believable enough. i tried so hard so enjoy this, but i’m almost halfway through and just can’t bring myself to care about the characters or the story. You are a young woman of good repute, fine breeding, and gracious nature, what better woman to sit on the queen's long empty throne?

Beck lives in Indiana with her husband and two children, where she spends her time reading and daydreaming of adventures in faraway lands. It was like sitting in a trap filled with smoke, rowdy people, and the rank smell of human flesh and animal dung. It might be because it plays into every trope that I love, but I am a girl of simple pleasures if they are done right, and this DOES IT RIGHT. King’s Bride is a dark, new adult book that does contain explicit content, past SA trauma (not at the hands of the MMC), abuse (not at the hands of the MMC), and is recommended for readers 18+.

I would've liked more details about the magic and how the magic system works but I assume that was covered in the previous books. I love when a character recognises their mistakes and crawls to be forgiven, and that’s exactly what happened with Delton. Postage charges vary according to the weight of your items and the destination country, and are calculated at the checkout. The beginning of The Kings Bride starts off slow, I had a harder time getting through the prologue because there was so much information to digust that I almost couldn’t process it all. There were also general writing inconsistencies like changing time of day multiple times in one scene (Chapter 7), but those were not unbearable and it was mainly all of the above that deterred me from continuing.

The King’s Bride is a really great Fantasy Romance, I loved the characters, the plot and the romance and hope we will get to see more of Xara and Delton in the author’s next books because I can’t get enough of them! Delton, our MMC, was also amazing and I loved reading about all the ways he was trying to win Xara when he finally realized his mistakes, there was also the case of “he falls first” in this book which is one of my favorite tropes! By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. She has been working on the Guardians series for over fifteen years, so she’d like to believe her characters exist in some tangible dimension, even if it's only in her imagination. Once he realizes shes not going to answer her door, he opens it up and walks inside where he finds her trunk and essentially finds the mask and outfit she wears as Ifer.Jökull is quite protective and possessive of his bride in a very typical alpha male way, and takes the trope “touch her you die” to the next level.

The relationship wasn’t there for me, I was not feeling it between them –even when I liked and loved many moments that were delivered later on the book- I was simply not connected to them. Xara was soo damn cool and yet she was still vulnerable and tender and I was soooo happy when she refused to give into Delton immediately even though she wanted him! King's Bride is an enthralling retelling of Beauty and the Beast that draws in readers with its swift pace and captivating storyline. Can’t say more without spoiling, sorry not sorry 😂 And after the half of the book, I really appreciated Delton and the complexity of his character. In that scene we are presented with Sunnëva’s baby brother, sister, father –who is the biggest ass and the most hideous human being ever to exist- and Rune –who I was shocked to realize was her love interest-.
