Remembering his old life causes him such discomfort that he prefers to avoid thinking about it altogether. Sure it's ostensibly an isekai cultivation story but unlike most of those, the focus is on the characters and what a great cast Casualfarmer has created for us. In our society, which praises peacefulness, it is a common (and contradictory) fantasy that being peaceful leads to combat strength.

Indeed, Jin Rou was not powerful, but he was diligent, and always willing to tend to the less desirable tasks around the sect. I had considered the possibility I had been fucked over, and asked the locals about this place, but nope. Which allows him to hang a giant nope sign on the future he's currently on and find somewhere to live quietly on his own farm. Recent threadmarks v4c75: To Home New v4c74: To the North New v4c73: Place of Defeat New v4c72: Relfections and One Last Task New v4c71: Dark Heart New v4c70. I reached into my wagon and grabbed my axe, causing my chickens to cluck irritatedly at me and the young rooster to crow at the sudden jostling. The sexual awkwardness is the usual for this kind of story, with the protagonist spending far too many words explaining why he felt uncomfortable undressing a wounded woman, and the same woman later admiring him in her mind (over and over) for not taking advantage of her. It's never explained how new Jin because a much more powerful cultivator than the original Jin, but it's apparent through his actions that he is. They have been handed both power and the ability to use it and seeing what they decide to do with said power is what makes this second book fascinating. This piece is a very intricate story, it goes against the absurdity of most popular xianxia chliche's, with very natural flow throughout the plot.

He just wants to make his own little slice of heaven in the peaceful, backwater regions of the Azure Hills with his rooster Big D, and maybe that cute sassy girl from the village. Our main character is sensible, not overly smart or stupid but more 'honest-to-god', type smart; being a very low-key character but still able to hold his ground. I read way too much (according to Kindle 636 books last year) and have something like 30 stories I follow on RR currently. Sure, I could convert them into pills, but I was extremely suspect about all the pills these people choked back. I earnestly just wish to see where this novel will take us in the future and I pray you don't fall in a slump and vanish one day for one reason or another. The answer, I think, is the wish fulfillment aspect of it, which is done quite badly here in general: The protagonist reincarnates from our world into a fantasy world, but it seems the author didn't put much thought into why. It was calming and invigorating at the same time, and I must confess I heartily enjoyed the heavy physical labour and the strength of ten men. This is an incredibly funny book about a guy with powers who just wants to live a simple life as a farmer.

At first, I thought that I'd not like it because the name and synopsis made it sound like the protagonist would be too weak for the genre where personal strength is everything. Watching Jin Rou build a farm, slowly come to the realisation that various members of his farm were Cultivators (he got the message when they presented him with the scattered swords of the bandits that were going to attack him) and slowly woo his wife, while just ambling about unaware that he was actually pretty powerful and solving problems he wasn’t even aware of was fun but it was also a plot that was done. Big D the rooster is fun, sure, but Chunky stole my heart and Tigger shouldered her way in somehow as well. You don't usually expect compelling stories about the journeys of a fish, a cat and a chicken, but they are.One where you live a simple life, far removed from the politics and noise of the city, loving the land so much that the land loves you right back. I felt at first like it was going to be a 3-star read (perfectly acceptable by my standards), but it grew into 4 stars, and then 5 (and then down to 4 again after a cooling-off period), progressing like the progression fantasy it is. There was a happy squeal from outside and the thunder of trotters, as the heavens decided to mock her.

Both she and Tigu have regular spars, though they also both have their own demons that they’re contending with. The series is still running strong, with multiple updates weekly, currently in "book 3," and I made the mistake of checking the author's Patreon and questioning my life over how much he gets monthly from supporters right now. They move forward, and forward some more, with occasional new threats appearing that become mini-episodes in the larger tale. The story takes place in the countryside where a cultivator ran away to and somehow became stronger than he ever was when cultivating in a sect. I don't think of it as parody or satire, but just something that subverts tropes and produces a fun, endearing, often goofy and intense story.
