The Mindful Monsters cards launch this week. Take a look, I think they are completely fabulous – a brilliant investment of time and into your child’s wellbeing! As mentioned by previous posters, it's not very good value for money/you don't get much really. I do think the design of the monsters is good though.

A travel holder for the cards so they can be taken out of the house and all kept together. An app would be okay but it encourages screen time which can be detriment to some children’s behaviour. Some may create one pompom that represents all of their emotions, while others may want to make one for each feeling.Maybe a stationary range would go down well? Or worry doll type soft toys of the monsters that children could use along with the cards? What did you like most about the Mindful Monsters product? I love that there is a variety of cards such as ones for relaxation, concentration, activity etc. They suit a variety of situations.

We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Mindful Monsters. From February 2020, the Monsters will be heading to venues across the UK. The basic root of happiness lies in our minds; outer circumstances are nothing more than adverse or favourable.”– Matthieu Ricard Definitely soft toys to bring the different monsters to life a bit more, especially for younger children like DS. Also perhaps a journal that children can fill in themselves/with help from a parent that encourages them to record positive things done that day.

Mindful Monsters Review  – Video

I think the most important part of it is that Ezzy tells a parent about these problems, and she talks through the problems; teaching Ezzy about mindfulness and how to consider each problem. It’s good that the book talks about how these things can be solved, and to reach out for help from friends and family if you need a bit of extra advice. Of course, with real life children, there are all different kinds of reasons for their problems, so not all problems can be solved the same way; but the important bit is to encourage the kid to talk about the problems, and perhaps help brainstorm on how to fix problems. And I think it’s important because it can open up a dialogue between you and your kid about what feelings they might be facing, if you’re looking to communicate with them more; ask them about any emotions they might be experiencing, and what’s causing those emotions. Are they happy, sad, scared, excited, etc? Monster Themed Counting up to 20 Worksheets - For even more ways to create integrated learning opportunities for your students, take a look at these Monster Counting Worksheets. A great way to maintain interest and engagement when teaching your children to count to twenty. The worksheet includes eye-catching images of cute monsters that will spark your children’s interest and keep them engaged during the task. The illustrations are fun and colourful and it's great to see the way the monster emotions change in the story going from bold and scary to milder and more cuddly looking. This is a clever way to help the children understand what mindfulness can do and that emotions don't have to be scary. After completing the initial Feelings Monster activity but before moving onto this one, assist the child in understanding the importance of accepting emotions while they gradually build their tolerance. This step takes time and patience. We conducted insight interviews with mums with primary school children and uncovered that they wanted to build their children’s emotional resilience so they are able to thrive in an uncertain world.

The basic concept is the same as the Feelings Monster activity, but with the added goal of helping children begin to shift their relationship to their emotions from one of resistance toward one of acceptance. Try talking about the monster in terms of the Pain Monster metaphor from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (p. 55 of the Mindful Monsters Workbook). Hopscotch is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that offers access to a library of high-quality digitized interventions for child and adolescent mental health therapists. A free interactive feelings monster exercise is available at Get-Hopscotch.com, along with hundreds of other digital activities.Even if you try to make a pompom monster look ugly and scary, it will almost always turn out adorable. Children’s attitudes toward their feelings usually begin to soften when you remind them that the pompom monster represents the same difficult emotions their drawing did. You can compare the two activities to help children understand that the difference is in their perception. We're delighted to announce our new partnership with Mindful Monsters. From February 2020, the Monsters will be heading to SuperCamps venues across the UK.
