I knew a bit of Wilson's story from following him on Youtube so I did find it interesting to learn more about things I had just heard a little bit about. As Nile’s father, I have obviously walked almost every step with Nile so far in his career, so gymnastics is in my blood as much as it is his. I believe that gymnastics is the greatest sport in the entire world and I have been lucky enough to experience that on many levels. Having managed Nile for the last few years I have had the privilege of being involved in this project from idea to our first site in Rotherham. The book was more revealing than I expected but that might be more to do with not really knowing much about Nile other than him being a ridiculously talented athlete. subscribers on his YouTube channel; as well as becoming a successful businessman with multiple ventures.The passion and determination is unrivalled and it comes across in every aspect of what Nile Wilson Gymnastics offer and it has to be felt to be understood.

When I first started reading this book, I thought I was going to get an idea of what it took to be a top class gymnast. Importantly, he finally lifts the lid on the true details behind the fall out with Leeds Gymnastics Club and British Gymnastics and how the future of the sport needs to be shaped. That says a lot for his love of the sport and his wanting it to be even better for average people consumption.

With My Story, Nile takes the reader though his celebrated career as he shares his brutal training regimens, his battles with addiction as well as his struggles with mental health that unfortunately goes hand-in-hand with being an elite level athlete.

Nile has his own merchandise range and is deeply passionate about getting youngsters into gymnastics. But had I not known of his social media presence before I read this I would have been disappointed that it wasn't edited better.Importantly, he finally lifts the lid on the true details behind the fall out with Leeds Gymnastics Club and British Gymnastics, and how the future of the sport needs to be shaped. Nile talks through how he rapidly rose to gymnastics stardom; his views on gymnastics coaching; the enormous battles he faced with injury which eventually forced him into retirement; his battles with gambling and mental health issues; his family; and how he successfully moved into business. However, by the end of it, I had developed a lot of respect for a guy who is still so young but who is absolutely focussed on what he wants to achieve, and is not afraid to admit when he isn't doing so well.
