Fiction. This was a fun book to read, and had lots of action scenes, but it wasn't one of the best books that I've read this summer. I really liked reading Hamish and the Worldstoppers and I was overjoyed when I heard that there is going to be a sequel. The illustations throughout the book by Jamie Littler bring it to life. I would still recommend it for anyone that's 8 and over because the text and size of the book is not suited to anyone younger.I’ve enjoyed everything of Danny Wallace’s that I’ve read, and given that I’ve read quite a few of his books, that’s quite the accolade. He just has an easy way with words that makes his stuff enjoyable, whether you’re reading children’s books, adult fiction or the non-fiction that helped to launch his career. A hilarious adventure from presenter and bestselling author Danny Wallace brought to life with illustrations from Jamie Littler, perfect for fans of David Walliams, Roald Dahl, David Baddiel and David Solomons!

I liked how when the bully was about to punch Hamish he just froze and he saw the worldstoppers for the first time. He felt like the only person moving and he saw that the worldstoppers throwing cars around. I'm sure kids would read this and even feel scared in some parts and laugh in others. The illustrations are interesting and helpful. The characters are good enough to get by. Hamish and the Neverpeople by Danny Wallace – review Hamish and the Neverpeople by Danny Wallace – review

When Kyan plays an old racing-car game which he found in the loft, he is thrust into an exhilarating, multiverse adventure, where the stakes are high and the pace is fast and furious.Soon Hamish teams up with other children who are 'Pausewalkers'. Why are they unaffected when the world stops? Why are the pauses getting longer and are they leading up to one final dreadful event?! The world stopping seemed to me to be the kind of idea I’d have really gotten into as a kid, too. I used to love the high concepts of Roald Dahl, just like everyone else who’s ever written a piece about children’s books. I liked them because they made me wonder, but because they also made me laugh… and sometimes cower.
