Almost half of people aged 50 and over received offers of help from their neighbours, 19% from other local people, and 18% from community groups. His daughter Yonnie is features editor at the Ayrshire Post and his son Christopher is a film editor in Glasgow. We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse. I didn't, I've never believed in trying to put an act on in front of the camera because I think you're wasting your time to do that, for good, bad or indifferent.

Then David Johnston and then we had, well, I forget the other ones, there was the one who went to London, I can't remember his name. In those days, it wasn't a children's programme, it was a family programme and the mother, the father, the granny and grandpa and the kids all watched the one set. In Life's a Cavalcade, Glen looks back over an eventful and varied life which began in the picturesque Devon town of Paignton, where he was born Cecil Buckland.Pepe Le Pew, for instance, was often a bit naughty, so Michael stopped showing it because it got too risque. Tough luck, you know, but the audience were there and I remember doing Francie and Josie, episodes of that, in the Theatre Royal and of course we used to use the stage. I: Do not take this the wrong way but I always felt approaching the show every time was, everything on that screen has got to look lived-in!

Michael loves his showbusiness biographies, I see, spying those of Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra among others. Michael is rightly proud of his long and varied career, which began at the age of 17 and spanned theatre, variety, comedy and film.

Glen Michael (born Cecil Buckland, 16 May 1926) is a British former children's television presenter and an entertainer. Michael looks back on these days with great fondness and pictures of both Milroy and Fulton feature in the hallway. He began his career as an entertainer on stage for the army and worked his way up with his many shows that encompassed his talent for comedy, in particular, impersonations. In 1966, then again from 1970 onwards the show also broadcast on most Christmas and New Year’s Days, until 1989. So I went next door to the top spot, which was the pub, next to the Theatre Royal which is where STV originally was and I had a gin and tonic and I'm sitting there and about ten minutes later Jimmy came in and said, "I've been looking for you! which makes me feel terrible because I'm still nineteen, well, turn it the other way round, ninety-one!
