Description

Idealistic young female doctor, young brave prince who wants to be a good ruler, and a bandit who used to be a general in the army and was disillusioned when the king fled the battlefield and left his company for dead.

The series was positively reviewed, and renewed for a second season which was released on March 13, 2020. But not surprisingly, the first group that visits learns extremely nasty murderers reside on the island…personally. They run, they're nocturnal (gods this is well developed in the show), they're in a historical setting which means Mr. Debts are paid in full, truths are revealed, and, more importantly, people are forgiven, accepted, and redeemed (not least Ahad, for whom acceptance is a key component of his storyline). There are many similarities in his tone to Oree’s voice in The Broken Kingdoms, but I think that’s mostly to do with the casual nature of their narration: Oree because she is a commoner, and Sieh because he is a god. At the same time, the Chief Scholar Kim Sun, part of the conspiracy to depose the king, becomes suspicious of the king's disappearance and also attempts to contact Lord Hyeon. Ryu Seung-ryong as Lord Cho Hak-ju (seasons 1–2), the Chief State Councilor of Joseon who is the head of the Haewon Cho clan and Lee Chang's political rival.

Jonathan Christian from The Playlist complimented the series by adding that "this series is risky programming for people who appreciate the unusual, gory, but imaginative, things in life. Jun Ji Hyun says she is a big fan of the 'Kingdom' series and wished to make an appearance as a zombie".Kevin Lever of Tell-Tale TV gave the second season a very positive review, writing: "the most important thing about Kingdom remains absolutely, undeniably riveting.

Michael Pementel from Bloody Disgusting praised the series, stating that " Kingdom is by far one of the most compelling works to come out of the zombie genre" and further adding that "thanks to strong acting, gripping action and drama, gruesome visuals, and an overall powerful narrative, Kingdom is a must watch for horror fans. Rather than it being air born and being bitten or scratched by a zombie this is spread in a pretty horrific way. It had a great intro to the zombies that only wake at night (which is a very interesting take on the zombie apocalypse), but it seemed to change lanes really quickly, and not in the best ways. Still, it's possible to forgive the imperfect plot for the sake of enjoying Kyung-Il Yang's artwork. Furthermore, he was excited at the prospect of a new director, joining the series in the second season, commenting that "Park In-je joined us for season two, and the new system of ‘making a TV series with people who make films’ was fascinating. There is a major cliffhanger at the end of this manga, so I’m assuming a sequel will be announced in the near future. Ahn Hyeon and his men discuss how the current zombie disease is different from the one that occurred during the Japanese invasions, while Lee Chang suspects Mu-yeong of being the mole and questions him. And though characters die – Sieh and Dekarta, notably – death is merely another type of transformation: when Shahar finally passes after living a full life, she essentially “midwifes” Sieh (who is no longer Sieh) back into existence, who then takes both Dekarta and Shahar with him to become another Three, in another realm entirely. Hak-ju also gathers a number of pregnant women and widows within the palace, including Mu-yeong's wife. The manhwa artist provides detailed, gritty drawings that work great for gore and perfectly fit the graphic novel's dark tone, making each page a treat to look at.

The prince, named Imun, has promised the mountain thief Jeha a large sum of money as reward once they reach his homeland. As a result, the first two seasons, which were originally planned to have eight episodes each, were shortened to six episodes. At the point where the story of 'Kingdom' ends, I don't know if 'God's Kingdom' will have a clue as well. The two unlikely travel companions stop in a small town and we quickly discover things are not what they seem in this world.Well, there is a conclusion for sure, but it’s one of those where you’ll have to imagine what occurs for these characters in manga form. Rafael Motamayor from GameSpot recommended the second season in his review by highlighting that, "Not to be outdone by Game of Thrones, Kingdom also serves as an intriguing courtroom thriller", further praising the narrative, by adding that it "doubles down on the viral aspect of the zombie outbreak, exploring its natural origin, how it spreads, and most frighteningly, how it evolves. It was almost like you would have had to watch the series before reading the book to have that necessary context to the plotline. Seven years later, the still-infected but asymptomatic boy king has brought stability to the kingdom while Lee Chang, Seo-bi, and Yeong-shin continue to investigate the origins of the resurrection plant, which they learn was deliberately introduced to and spread across Korea by an unknown person. Having lost all of his bodyguards to an assassination attempt, he has no choice but to turn to the mountain bandit Jae-ha for help.
