The deluxe set includes a 28-page booklet featuring in-depth liner notes penned by lifelong Elvis fan/respected music critic Randy Lewis, rare photos and memorabilia from the event, and the first-ever visual release of Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite on Blu-ray. And then it begins, and some sort of insanity is immediately established, promising a cinematic ride for viewers that’s engineered to leave them breathless. When Everett gets out of prison he begins his quick rise to fame and is quickly noticed by a young publicist who takes him under her wing. The low end of bass is on a consistent train of rumble whether it be a live performance or a music cue.

Archival producer Ernst Mikael Jørgensen and Memphis-based recording engineer Matt Ross-Spang have fully remixed the album from the original 16-track live recordings—first captured on tape by esteemed mobile engineer Wally Heider and newly digitized for this release with audiophile 24-bit, 192 KHz transfers–to bring fans a fresh listen. Others however may not quite so quick to overlook these… and of course, there simply isn’t enough room for the myriad of other characters in Presley’s life to make much of a mark, including Richard Roxburgh’s’ father and Olivia De Jonge’s Priscilla. Finally, disk compression appears to be consistent and very good, with no noticeable artefacts observed – bit rates average in the low 70s mbps for the most part across the entire film, with the odd peak nudging just under 100 mbps during specific scenes, all of which were observed with a quick scan through the film’s playback information for those that like numbers. Luhrmann's way of showcasing the big events in Elvis's life from discovering music, the gospel, and playing with some of the biggest names in music like Big Mama Thorton, Little Richard, B. Includes newly found fifties footage, UNRELEASED so far as well as actual footage of Elvis singing the song Tonight's All Right For Love - the European version IMPOSSIBLE to find.

The 5CD/2Blu-Ray box set offers all previously released audiovisual material from the special including rare outtakes, plus deluxe book with rare photos and a newly-compiled oral history of the making of the program. The album spans a variety of musical styles that Elvis embraced, from rock and gospel to country and ballads, featuring beloved Presley classics along with several surprises.

The sound effects are robust and loud, whether it be one of the vehicles driving past screaming fans, mic checks at concerts and at stadiums, or a strum of the guitar string. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at ourwarehouse. Facial textures are excellent, with the individual hairs of Butler’s superlative mutton chops nicely delineated, as are some of the outrageous make up appliances (some purposeful, some…not so). It's breathless, especially in its opening act, where time periods slip and slide across each other as Parker’s narration gets the audience up to speed with Presley, and it could so easily disorientate… but it somehow seems a perfect match for the sequin-festooned, gaudily glamorous excess of Elvis’s life that, together with its established structure of taking part in Parker’s drug-induced mind, presents Presley in almost the only way that it could. Recorded at four Elvis tour dates throughout April 1972, most of these tracks are previously unreleased, and appear here on vinyl for the first time.

Baz Luhrmann has crafted a stylistic dream of a cinematic experience, bringing together all his experience of Moulin Rouge’s musical explosion and The Great Gatsby’s peak into the soul of a larger-than-life character and produced a sensorial feast that offers a tantalising look behind the curtain of the battle for one of music’s most legendary souls. A real bonus is the recently found I'm Left You're Right She's Gone live version, audio only with rare film. Elvis seems more consigned to pleasing the masses in this one, where as in 'Jailhouse Rock' he didn't want to do any dance numbers that weren't representative of who he was. The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, is streaming on HBO Max, in addition to Westworld, Gossip Girl, The Rehearsal, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Rap Sh!

The mixing of the songs is nigh on perfect – the bass and its use of the LFE channel is tight and deep, but fast and never resorts to booming or overt spot blasts of LFE. The album features 15 remastered Elvis performances from the “stand-up” and “sit-down” shows filmed for the ’68 broadcast, plus three original studio recordings to represent songs that appear in the new special. It's also interesting to note, that by the time 'Viva Las Vegas' rolled around, it seemed that Elvis was more comfortable performing generic looking dance numbers. reasonably accurate portrayal of what you'll see on a properly calibrated setup -- and if you're upscaling to 4K, it may prove to be more impressive still.
