Description

The manga itself is deliberately drawn in a very hurried style that, like Ririko, is extremely rough and disjointed most of the time, but alluring in others.

The animation. In some cases it’s hard to tell how good the animation really is since the video quality was only a mere 480p. Perhaps there was no 720p release or EroBeat decided they would only do a low quality release, whatever. I could still tell that some serious work had been put into making everything run smoothly and all the sex was entertaining and arousing(well the fourth volume has some exceptions). The characters were also drawn pretty well. Sometimes in hentai you can just ignore a bit of anatomy, but this one didn’t skimp on details. This manga explores all the gritty and disturbing practices of modeling, fashion and idol culture. It's demanding to the point of being abusive, it's full of unrealistic standards and it often drives people insane from the stress and unhealthy practices they have to constantly maintain just to try and remain relevant in the public eye. It can be an innocent hobby for some but it can also be a dangerously shallow practice that boils an entire person's worth down to their physical appearance or acting ability, treating them in inhumane ways and destroying their self-worth just for money and attention. There are many horrid moments within this hentai, which'll make you feel dirty inside for just watching it. though that is what it is supposed to make you feel. and if that is what they were going for, i do not take away score because of it. though i do because i think that most Ririko starts to desperately pursue anything she can to hang on to her fame as she dies away--vendettas with younger models, meaningless sex ("I just want to use my body and destroy the bodies of others", she says), drugs...whatever she can get her hands on. The cinematography is active and varied, switching from wide panoramas and panned shots to encompass the beauty of your surroundings to more intense extreme-closeups and first person POVs to get you more in tune with the plight of the main character. In addition to that, drugs are also a player in this film which often result in quite fantastical sights and effects to add even more upon the visuals. So yes, if you're looking for a gorgeous film you've got what you're looking for.

Background

Right off the bat, I don’t think anyone had even heard of the game it was based on except those in the HongFire community. Likewise, I’ve never even played the VN before so I didn’t know what to expect coming into the hentai and to Helter Skelter won an award of excellence at the Japan Media Arts Festival sponsored by the Japanese government in 2004. [3] The manga also won the Grand Prize at the 2004 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. [4] In 2008, it was nominated as an Official Selection at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in France. [5]

Yes Lilico's an extremely flawed character. She's egoistical, manipulative, a drug and sex addict, corrupt, obsessive, aggressive and downright vengeful and murderous at times. But similarly to Joaquin Phoenix's Joker, that doesn't mean it's entirely her fault. She's not blameless, she still carries a lot of the blame however the industry, the people that surrounded her like flies, the people that took advantage of her and abused her all her life are also at fault for creating this monster, this tragedy. In a lot of ways this movie is quite similar to Joker as well besides Guilty of Romance. It paints a dark picture of us and our faults in creating such characters the same way Joker calls out the media and every human who might be responsible in creating psychopaths. However, Liliko has many secrets and the pressure of being number 1 starts to cause her to unravel. After all, how you get there is how you keep it. And for Liliko that means surgery maintenance, because most of her body has been altered and the surgery procedures come with severe side effects.Helter Skelter, is a strange one. it's one that i think people can enjoy because of the excellent animation and sound.though i do not think many could enjoy it because of the story itself.(unless you are into this kind of thing,) Even if it does draw you in a little. even when the mangaka throws in some sad moments. Like we're supposed to go "oh, poor rich and privileged white girl :( She's a bitch because of the circumstances! That totally justifies the shitty way she treats other people!" Uhm... no. I could feel a bit of sympathy for her if she wasn't a bitch ALL THE TIME. If it was just a few moments but most of the time (or at least half of the time) she was a decent person. But that's not the case, Ririko makes sure to constantly be rude and a pain in the ass of everyone she meets (most importantly, her employees).

In basically all respects, the quality of this episode tanked. It was still good, but the plot was not up to par, the animation took shortcuts and the scenario was no longer believable. It was sometimes a bit of a drag to watch through all of this. The ending wasn’t bad though. Tada talks to Kozue about what she wants to do in five years and if she plans to keep modeling. To her surprise, Kozue admits that she actually looks forward to having a normal, obscure life and doesn't really care if anyone remembers her or not. Later on, Tada has a talk with the makeup artist who had long worked for her agency and Kozue learns Liliko's dark secret in having plastic surgery. Although she doesn't say anything about it, trouble is on the horizon. The content is mature, handling adult themes and images, such as sexuality, drug abuse, and suicide. Liliko uses her body as a commodity, trading it for what she wants and using it to advance her career. The art represents this without censoring but does not show any extreme detail. Please be aware of these topics should you choose to read it yourself.

MILD SPOILER WARNING] She even goes far as to RAPE her P.A, TWICE. Actually, it's implied to happen more than twice, but it is explicitly shown to us two times. [/END OF SPOILER]This was an intense story, there was a lot of toxic behaviours that was shown and things went for 0 to 100 frequently that it was hard to keep up with at times. However, I found that I could not put this manga down because I was fascinated and wanted to see the end.
