A Mini 3 model that’s more affordable, albeit less capable

The camera is the same as the one on the Mini 3 Pro, but 48MP shooting in Raw and JPEG is not available on the Mini 3. However, you can easily increase the size of the 12MP Raw files using Adobe’s Super Resolution in Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw. When we tested the Mini 3 Pro, the in-camera interpolation of Raw files was pretty much identical to Adobe’s Super Resolution, so despite the absence of the feature in the drone, you can still achieve similar results in post-production and essentially, the only cost is time. The Mavic Mini is still a fine drone if you don't need 4K video

We would have loved to have seen USB-C charging on the Mavic Mini, but that's probably our biggest gripe with the drone from a connectivity point of view. DJI Mavic Mini verdict If you intend to shoot video, even at a basic level, it’s recommended that you use ND filters to achieve the correct shutter speed for natural-looking movement. An ND filter set is available separately from DJI and in a nutshell, the 180-degree rule for video suggests that the shutter speed used should be roughly double the frame rate of the video being captured. So, if you shoot at 30fps, the ideal shutter speed is 1/60 sec – easy. The charging hub allows you to charge three DJI Mavic Mini batteries automatically in sequence. This means you can charge all your DJI Mavic Mini batteries before a trip or long shooting session. It’s also capable of charging other devices, so you can be sure your other gadgets are ready to go as well. It’s that easy! When plugged in, the controller charges your phone, with its 2,600mAh battery delivering ample juice for a couple of hours of flight time. As for the Mini itself, its batteries are 2,400mAh, with a quoted flight time of 30 minutes, depending on environment and usage. We found this to be roughly on the money, though flying primarily in Sports mode shaves a few minutes off the flight time.
