Description

Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1963, he was inspired from a young age by his older sister's drawing and Kazuo Umezu's comics and thus took an interest in drawing horror comics himself. Eventually, unable to cope with her coy flirtation and their desire to possess Tomie completely, they are inevitably compelled to kill her — only to discover that, regardless of the method they chose to dispose of her body, her body will always regenerate. He bounces between being afraid of the cat and having an uncontrollable urge to smother it with affection. Faustine Lillaz of Planete BD, in contrast, wrote that the humor of the manga would have a wide appeal.

Wonderful, deadpan humour pervades Junji Ito’s tongue-in-cheek, autobiographical manga based on a reluctant conversion from dog person to cat person. This comedic graphic memoir about becoming a cat owner is reissued in a deluxe hardcover featuring an exclusive interview with Ito and a new cover illustration by the author that glows in the dark! It received generally positive reviews from critics, who enjoyed it as a cat-centered manga whose humor was derived from the emphasis on the behavior of the cat caretaker, rather than the cat. He frequently will draw them ominously staring at him, he will draw distorted faces in horror (and his fiancée is almost always drawn with just blank white eyes).

It's amazing how Junji Ito can take a rather mundane book about his new family getting two cats and turn it into horror.

She names the kitten Mu, since he will be the sixth cat her family has kept, with her mother's cat, Goro, being the fifth. That said, people who are into his sort of horror might not like that when all is said and done, he just wrote a cute little book about his cats. This makes a story about living with cute cats somehow applicable to a dramatic and grotesque style of art. Little did he know…his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow—Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu, an adorable Norwegian forest cat.Includes two pages of cat photographs of the real life cats, if you haven't already seen enough cat pictures from your friends on Facebook. Reigning king of horror manga Junji Ito presents a series of hissterical tales chronicling his real-life trials and tribulations of becoming a cat owner.

Junji Ito, as J-kun, has recently built a new house and has invited his fiancée, A-ko, to live with him. Ito used two main artistic styles throughout the manga: a realistic one and a horror-tinged one of exaggeration. Much of the humor comes from ominous set ups, actions that in his other comics would lead to gruesome murders or hauntings instead pay off with a joke.Ito's sister asked that her own longhair cat, Ran-chan, be included in the manga, but he did not have the space for it.

However, when she moves in, she comes with two cats, Yon, a strange-looking white cat with a ghastly fur pattern on its back that resembles a skull, and Mu, Yon's cute counterpart and playmate. Skonstruowana z luźnych scenek, które przedstawiają codzienne życie z perspektywy kogoś, kto pierwszy raz ma stały kontakt z mruczkami i zaaatraaaca się w miłości do nich. In "Tread Not on Poop, Snot, or Cat," J-kun pranks A-ko with fake cat excrement, only to accidentally pick up real cat vomit thinking that it was A-ko's revenge. A-ko's appearance, with her almost entirely white eyes, has also been noted to share similarities with yokai, supernatural Japanese entities. This manga is a diary of the author’s life as he tries and often fails to connect with his two feline friends.

Reviewers enjoyed the narrative as a lighthearted window into pet caretaking, where the humor derived from the caretaker's response to the cats, rather than the cats' behavior. I like both Ito and cats, so I find this pretty delightful, particularly in how it's still drawn like horror manga in typical Ito style, even though the content is all actually pretty normal. Son las 5 am, y tuve que contener la risa en varias ocasiones porque no sabría explicarle a mi novio que lo desperté a carcajadas porque vi una ilustración de Junji cayendo sobre el moco de su propio gato.
