Scotland is part of the UK, so they speak English *I really want to insert a bad Scottish joke here… but I’ll be good! We parked in the visitor centre on the shores of Loch Shiel, which also allowed a walk up the slope for incredible views of the viaduct, even in the rain! The West Coast, the East Coast, Fort William, Aviemore and Glencoe are all popular areas in Scotland.

But we were blessed with INCREDIBLE weather at John o’Groats- definitely made up for the misery of Skye! Pitlochry is a gem of a place, that is filled with gorgeous little villages and beautiful landscapes. He lives near Edinburgh and spends his free time exploring Scotland and writing about his experiences. Other places that are considered amongst the most beautiful in Scotland are Edinburgh for its atmospheric medieval buildings, Cairngorm National Park for its dramatic mountain ranges, and Pitlochry for its unspoilt forests. Some islands are easily reached and offer excellent tourist facilities, while some are very remote and off the beaten track. Spend an afternoon discovering more about its history and make sure to spot the William Wallace Tower, too.

Here’s the first EVER video where we flew our drone over the sea… the views of the shoreline and the rocks are incredible. We stayed at Dunnet Bay campsite near John o’Groats for a couple of nights, which allowed us to ride our motorbikes and leave the motorhome somewhere safe. The country is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, which you can explore from more nearly 30 caravan sites and parks available to book with the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Complied after years of experience touring and exploring Scotland, it contains all the best things to see and do, plus everything you need for incredible Scottish road trips for years to come. Walking and hiking are very popular ways to enjoy the views, and there are a good variety of national cycle routes if you would like to explore on two wheels.

Ultimate Map Of Things To See When Visiting Scotland

Aviemore is in the Cairngorms National Park and is Scotland’s winter sports mecca, but there’s plenty to do in the summer too, including a visit to the famous Speyside Distilleries. But some of the most beautiful places on mainland Scotland have to be on the western coast- the beaches are stunning. Don't miss iconic heritage buildings like Edinburgh Castle, Glasgow Cathedral and the intriguing Rossalyn Chapel, but there are hundreds more worth exploring. We waited for the John o’Groats post to be empty so we could take photos with our motorbikes… and then we felt a little lost.Experience More with Dunnet Bay Distillers Are you embarking on a North Coast 500 adventure this Summer?
