First visit to this highly rated restaurant, as a group we were all impressed with the wonderful food & value for money. A party of three in one corner were noisy and vulgar and I was told one was a local chef. He obviously thought he was Gordon Ramsey as he was swearing a bit too much. But, even worse for noise was a table of eight people who were celebrating a birthday. I wish I could say they were youngsters but I can’t as they were the same age as us… The mid week set meal is certainly that & had a good choice of dishes which were all beautifully cooked & presented. very good service and tasty food with a good wine selection. I would give it one more star if they improved the vegetarian options and maybe had softer lighting.

For Jean it was a “no brainier” to go for the Baileys crème brûlée with shortbread biscuit and strawberry slices. We were also given a bowl containing young carrots dressed in honey and roasted and garlic cabbage. Both of which were delicious. After a short rest we perused the dessert menu. Two dishes stood out to us, both favourites of ours. On the drinks menu is saw a Cornish Lager called “Korev”. So decided to give it a try. It was quite nice with a slight aftertaste of grapefruit. However, it is not something I would have again as I much prefer the Italian, Turkish and Greek lagers.
