The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro weighs 1.39kg according to my scales, a fistful of grams more than a classic widescreen laptop in this category. But that is simply because there’s more laptop to fit in here. It’s a delightful laptop to use; metallic wherever you touch, bar the keys, attractive and light enough. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro one of the easiest-to-recommend series of laptops for those who want a computer that looks and feels like a top-end MacBook rival, but costs a little less.

Contrast of 1341:1 in this LCD model is obviously not close to what that OLED model would achieve, but it is actually an excellent contrast ratio for an IPS LCD. It’s also a 90Hz panel, for smoother scrolling and cursor motion.

Our test model is a mid-specced configuration of the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Pro 14ACH5, with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, 1 TB of fast SSD storage, and Radeon Vega 8 graphics embedded into the AMD APU. Graphics are handled by the Radeon Vega chips with 8 EUs and frequencies of up to 2.0 GHz on the Vega 8 in the 5800H. The memory is DDR4-3200 on this laptop variant, soldered on the motherboard, and tops up at 16 GB.

Actual battery life may vary depending on application usage, settings, features or tasks selected, network configuration, operating temperature and many other factors. Lenovo doesn’t seem to have changed its keyboard style much for this latest 2022 generation of series 7 laptops. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro has what I consider to be standard-grade key travel for a portable style-led computer. All in all, I still expect the Yoga Slim 7 Pro to be a solid buy in its class for those of your looking for a competent daily driver with the ability to occasionally run demanding loads. Don’t get this for gaming or any GPU loads, though, the Vega graphics isn’t much by today’s standards. You could perhaps consider the Intel variants for that, but you’re sacrificing on multi-core CPU performance there, and if you’re looking to edit photos or videos on your laptop, you should also consider the OLED variant with the wide-gamut panel over the IPS tested here.Next, here are some benchmark results.
