I adore honeycomb, so couldn’t wait to try Butterm!lk’s vegan milk chocolate egg with crunchy honeycomb flakes. It even comes with a generously-sized Honeycomb Blast bar that is super chunky – far bigger than a certain non-vegan chocolate bar! We can't have chocolate oranges but we can have the one variety of the mini eggs so make the most of these Terrys gluten free treats while you can.

Whether you enjoy a dark chocolate Easter egg or a creamy vegan milk chocolate egg, there’s a vegan chocolate egg to please every palate. Although this egg is 70% cocoa, it has a really smooth, almost creamy aftertaste, and definitely couldn’t be classed as a bitter dark chocolate. In short, it’s a very easier eater.Master chocolatiers MELT, who handmake their products in London’s Notting Hill, have three luxury vegan Easter eggs to choose from this year, including the new almond milk egg. This year Morrisons range is very disappointing, the majority of their own brand Easter chocolates carry may contains expect for the dedicated free from egg. Romney isn’t particularly big, so this is on the more expensive side for an Easter treat, but for fans of both dark chocolate and marshmallows it’s a must. Cookie dough is one of my favourite flavours and the adorable NOMO bunny included in this egg really delivers on this. It was hard to believe that it was gluten-free, it gave such a rich, biscuity flavour! If you’d like your Easter egg to come with a clear conscience, Divine is always a good choice as the brand is famously co-owned by the cocao farmers it works with. So the farmers get a share of the profits they help to create, and you get a great tasting egg.

Although these aren’t technically Easter eggs, the new Rabbit collection from PLAYin Choc is a special release for Easter, and they do make a very appealing treat for both children and young-at-heart adults. The cardboard 3D puzzle that comes with the box is simple to put together and a nice little keepsake. There are 6 different rabbit designs to collect (from English Spot to Lion Head), and each puzzle comes with a fact sheet to tell you about that type of bunny, which adds a gently educational element. To begin with I wondered if they were hiding inside the hen, but they’re actually incorporated into the chocolate shell to give a really interesting texture. The chocolate itself is perfectly tempered with a great snap, and the flavour is sublime. Made with 70% cacao Peruvian dark chocolate, it’s incredibly rich and fruity with a bitterness that allows the cocoa flavour to be the star of the show. Gluten-free: Yes but it may contain trace amounts as it is not manufactured in a dedicated gluten facilityIf you are shopping at Asda this year there are a few gluten free choices in easter eggs you can choice from though most of them are part of the free from range so dairy free too. A little different to your traditional Easter egg shape, it’s a decent size at around 17cm high, 12cm wide and 11cm deep. These are all individually wrapped in foil and have a slightly different flavour to the chocolate in the egg. The chocolate is slightly darker in colour, and the flavour is a little more fruity, with hints of dark cherry, which gives a really nice contrast to the egg itself.
