Songs of the Unforgiven, the eighth studio album under the Crash Test Dummies name, was recorded not long after Puss 'n' Boots. [9] Hiatus, Oooh La La 2006–2014 [ edit ]

The Grammy Awards are awarded annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States. Crash Test Dummies received three nominations. [31] Year I don’t think this song is even about God. It’s about the people who supposedly believe in him. It’s ironical that they believe in him, but have so many uncertainties, so many questions. If you believe in God, why so unsatisfied in his presence; why ask about heaven when God is right there in the picnic with you? That’s so stupid. This BIEM/GEMA Sonopress pressing without any sid codes has a clear/transparent center mould hub. It's not to be mixed up with the other BIEM/GEMA Sonopress pressing with clear hub Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet, which has a mould sid code, and with the other BIEM/GEMA Sonopress pressings with a silver hub, different price code and mould/mastering sid codes. https://www.antimusic.com/news/15/March/19Crash_Test_Dummies_Score_EDM_Hit_With_Marc_Mysterio_Collaboration.shtml The puppet show in the music video was obviously just a puppet show. Yet people went to see the show to be reassured, asking questions to something that was obviously just a puppet. Again, that symbolizes how people can be really stupid.

The album was the band's biggest mainstream hit. AllMusic writer Stephen Thomas Erlewine attributes the album's success to "Jerry Harrison's remarkably clear and focused production" and that "apart from the relatively concise pop smarts of the singles "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" and "Afternoons and Coffeespoons," God Shuffled His Feet isn't all that different from the band's first album." [2] Commercial performance [ edit ] Despite the hiatus, in 2006 Brad Roberts began to record the album that would become Oooh La La with producer and friend Stewart Lerman, using the optigan and omnichord. [12] In their native Canada, "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" was a comparative disappointment on the charts, only peaking at No.14. Two other songs from the album went top 10 in Canada: "Swimming In Your Ocean" and " Afternoons & Coffeespoons". This latter song was also a top 40 hit in Australia and the United Kingdom and hit the lower portion of the US Hot 100. The result was that by mid-1994 the album had passed the platinum sales mark (one million) in the United States and had also earned the band three Grammy nominations and three more Juno nominations. To date, [ when?] God Shuffled His Feet has sold more than five and a half million copies worldwide. Weston, Colin (7 January 2001). "Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet". Drowned in Sound. Archived from the original on 11 June 2017 . Retrieved 4 May 2017. The less-than-stellar commercial success of both A Worm's Life and Give Yourself a Hand resulted in the band feeling much more restricted by their label BMG, especially after the label rejected 35 songs during the production of Give Yourself a Hand. As a result, the band and the label parted ways, and Brad Roberts formed his own independent label "Cha-Ching Records" (later renamed to "Deep Fried Records"). [10]
