Official tasting notes for it are below. Jameson Irish Whiskey uses a mix of malted and unmalted barley in their Irish Whiskey in a single pot still. It can't be referred to as a Single Malt Whisky, because the term Single Malt is used to refer to whiskies made using only malted barley. People would usually refer to Jameson Irish Whiskey as a Blended Whiskey, which is the result of blending different types of whiskies and grains. Is James considered a Good Whiskey? Accounting for the biggest share of the global Irish Whiskey Market, Jameson Whiskey is available in more than 120 different countries. That’s more than a staggering 20 million bottles a year. Partnering up with the likes of John Power & Son and the Cork Distillery Company in 1966, Jameson Irish Whiskey have in turn become a member of a new Irish Distillers triumvirate. Then in 1972, getting Bushmills on board gave the company a stronghold on the production of Irish Whiskey running all the way up to the 1980s. They then parted ways in 1988 when Pernod Ricard took over Jameson Whiskey, and Bushmills Whiskey was eventually sold in 2005 to Diageo. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remainder of the Terms shall continue in full force and effect. Nose: Rich nutty tones, dark berries and ripe orchard fruits mixed with sweet woodland spices. Underlying hints of oak combined with dried herbs and traditional pot still flavours, all wonderfully balanced and complex. Through this global partnership, Jameson continues to showcase its unwavering support to Teezee, creatives, the music industry, and the altè community as a whole.

I created this project for the world of people who live in places like we do and know that a world of opportunities is not available to them but who find ways to dream. I’m making this for the underdog and for people who have been looked down on. Those of us that have struggled to show the world who we truly are and find ways to communicate it. This is really for anyone out there looking for a sign that they can also do it for themselves. Gold Spot is a 9-year-old whiskey – referring to the youngest spirit in the blend – but the wine cask-matured whiskeys have aged for up to 16 years. Even the bottling strength of 51.4% ABV is a nod to history: equivalent to ‘10 under proof’ according to the system used in Mitchell & Son’s old price lists – another factor that makes Gold Spot a thoroughly modern Irish whiskey, but one with its roots buried deep in the heritage of whiskey, wine and the Mitchell family.
