I got this mainly for use hardware synths in my home studio and this definitely adds sparkle to the sound especially when using either the Shim, Reverse or added reverb settings. The pedal also has 4 delay settings while similar also lift the sound produced by the synths.

For maximum versatility in a minimum amount of space, there’s not many Digital Delay pedals on the market that offer as much as the Boss DD-8. Key Features: While I didn't spend much time with the loop function it seems easy enough to use and seems to reproduce the sound OK. The DD-8’s inputs and outputs have smart functionality, allowing you to set the pedal for any application simply by connecting cables in different ways. A variety of mono and stereo connections are supported, including discrete dry and effect outputs for wet/dry setups. It’s even possible to defeat the dry signal entirely, perfect for delay-only blending in a parallel effects loop.

Boss got so much right with their DD‑3 that it has remained on sale ever since it launched in 1986. But this year they’ve updated it and introduced the more adventurous DD‑8.The BOSS DD-8 Digital Delay pedal is Boss’s most versatile and feature-rich compact delay pedal and replaces the sucessful DD-7. Eleven modes include everything from basic digital delay to a looper with up to 40 seconds of recording time. In keeping with Boss’s peerless reputation, this is a very solid pedal, and comes with a 5 year warranty. Now available from Merchant City Music, Glasgow’s longest-established guitar specialist, we ship fast to the UK, Europe and worldwide. BOSS DD-8 Digital Delay Pedal The DD-8 features a total of 11 mode settings, covering a wide range of delay colors from basic to exotic, plus a looper with unlimited overdub capability and external control support. Pros: Good delay with clear definition, the added effects of Shim, Reverse and with added reverb are great fun c) If there are any differences between the terms of this License Agreement and the OSS License, the OSS License shall prevail and the terms of this License Agreement shall not apply. b) You shall not loan, rent, lease, sublicense or transfer the SOFTWARE, either in whole or in part, to any third party. When it comes to pricing, it’s not the cheapest delay pedal in the world. But since it’s made by one of the most famous guitar manufacturers in the world, it’s totally understandable. Considering how efficient, durable and good sounding this pedal is, it’s definitely worth the money. What’s important, the pedal also features a 40-second looper with overdub capability and the Tap Tempo, which is an another massive advantage. Looper offers up to 40 seconds of recording time, overdub capability, and three-pedal operation with external footswitches Who is it for? Well, the DD8 will be ideal for both amateur and more advanced musicians who are looking for a great sounding and versatile digital reverb pedal. It’s a bit different than the DD3 and DD7, but that’s what actually makes it so interesting. I find this pedal has a great sound and actually sold my avalanche run after I started using it although I do miss the separate reverb.

Smart I/O for Easy Setup: The DD-8’s inputs and outputs have smart functionality, allowing you to set the pedal for any application simply by connecting cables in different ways. A variety of mono and stereo connections are supported, including discrete dry and effect outputs for wet/dry setups. It’s even possible to defeat the dry signal entirely, perfect for delay-only blending in a parallel effects loop. DD-8 Delay Modes I found it hard to see what the Mod, Warp and GLT settings did to the sound but that could be just me. Introducing the BOSS DD8, the most wide-ranging and feature-rich BOSS compact series delay ever. Like the DD7 before it, this loaded pedal delivers even more of everything—more great sounds, more delay time, more control options, and more connectivity. And it does it all in a standard BOSS pedal that slides easily into any mono or stereo setup. Eleven modes provide delay colours from basic to exotic, plus a looper with unlimited overdub capability and external control support. For maximum versatility in a minimum amount of space, the DD-8 is hard to beat.I hardly have any low -end loss and the repeats actually have a fatness to them that are pretty much a perfect copy of the tone I put in.
