Description

If you don’t own a KitchenAid stand mixer then buying a stand alone juicer rather than this mixer-juicer attachment combination makes sense. Unless of course you will be using the stand mixer in many other ways to make your investment worthwhile. In this case, try a masticating juicer from this list or one of these centrifugal juicers. Some juicers are able to do more than just juice, including tasks from making non-dairy milk to grinding meat to extruding pasta dough. These often require extra attachments or parts, which a machine might include or might be sold separately. A multifunctional model is nice for someone without a lot of kitchen space, but the extra expense of the extra features isn't worthwhile if you're not going to use them. Cleaning brush We found juicers that came with a cleaning brush were much easier to clean, as they can reach into nooks and crannies to remove small bits of pulp.

Facts: This is one kind of truth, but people are looking for the slowest juicers to give more nutritious juice. Masticating/ slow juicers give a more nutritious juice by breaking down the fruit and vegetables’ fiber. It is not because of how slowly they must work, but it occurs because of their chewing and grinding action. Myth: “Juicing is too expensive and wasteful.” All products, including hand mixers and juicers, are made from high quality materials. Durable gears and working mechanisms, as well as long-lasting and easy to clean stainless steel function knobs will not only last for years but they will continue to look top quality throughout this time. Well, it seems people either loveor hate this particular attachment. There is not a lot of people in between. Even some staunch KitchenAid supporters are not fans of the attachment although they use several others. With a choice of three pulp screens so you can determine the texture of your juice, sauce or jam - depending on your preference and what you are making – it also benefits from a drip-free serving control, which means you won’t get in a mess when it comes to dispensing. Solidly made, with a stainless steel pre-slicing blade and auger assembly. The biggest qualm we have with this machine is how complicated it is to assemble, take apart, and wash. There are a lot of parts, and you have to jump around in the manual to figure out how they all fit together. None of the parts are dishwasher-safe—you can't even use hot water on some of them—so there's a lot of brushing and scrubbing involved, plus there are small spaces within the machine itself that can be hard to get to. Once you get it put together, though, it's fairly space-efficient and not as bulky as most juicers. It's pricy, but all of Hurom's juicers are built to last, and this one's motor has a generous 10-year warranty. Anti-drip spout The spout should stop any remaining juice inside the machine from dripping onto your worktop after you've finished juicing. Look out for a drip-stop spout – this works by flipping upwards and tends to be the most effective. Out of the box there are a few key parts – drive assembly, juicer bowl, screen wiper basket, 3 screens, auger/blade assembly, lid, hopper, 2-in-1 food pusher. There are also containers for catching juice, pulp, screen storage and a cleaning brush. The juice pitcher holds just over a quart, a generous size but one that might need emptying out well before the 3.2-quart pulp container gets full. You also might want to keep a dish towel on hand, as there can be some leaking and splashing involved at high speed. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and fit together simply, a nice benefit for setup and cleanup.

The compact Magic Bullet Blender is a great value for making smoothies, and its miniature counterpart similarly impresses. It's a no-frills machine, but its 400-watt motor and 2-inch feed tube can make short work of most anything. In testing, we got better-than-expected performance, even with vegetable juices: It was able to handle beets, carrots, ginger, and orange; kale, lemon, cucumber, and apple; and even straight celery for celery juice. It did leave somewhat wet pulp, which means there was some unextracted juice left behind, but the generous 52-ounce pulp bin held everything easily. (If you want to get hardcore, you could even squeeze the pulp in a strainer bag to extend the yield.) The KitchenAid Artisan Maximum Extraction Juicer 5KVJ0111 is designed for the serious juicer and comes with a premium price tag to match! With this in mind, you do get a lot of machine for your money with three filter screens - for low pulp, high pulp, saucing and jams, plus a bag for storing them. In contrast, there are plenty of people who love the ease of using this juicing attachment with the mixer. In particular, anyone who is also using it for saucing, canning and jam making found it to be a great asset. Is It A Waste of Money? The VerdictManual juicers, generally used only on limes, lemons, and other citrus fruits, come in several varieties. A handheld squeezer has two hinged arms that crush citrus, yielding juice efficiently if slowly. A reamer sits on the counter, with a ridged cone-shaped piece that squeezes juice out of the fruit into an attached basin. For high-volume manual juicing, there are citrus presses that mount to a wall or counter. These are basically larger versions of the handheld squeezer, with a single arm that juices citrus halves extra-fast. (Manual juicers are also a great way to get juice out of pomegranates.)

The KitchenAid Slow Juicer and Sauce Attachment – 5KSM1JA is remarkable in the world of kitchen appliances, offering convenience and versatility. This nifty attachment, designed to work seamlessly with your KitchenAid stand mixer, opens up a world of possibilities for health-conscious foodies and culinary enthusiasts alike. Yes. Masticating juicer and cold-press juicer are two different terms for the same kind of machine. What makes a masticating juicer a masticating juicer is that it slowly crushes the ingredients without creating heat—in other words, cold-pressing them. Those who don’t make juice regularly could be a perfect option, particularly for beginners, and are looking for a reasonable price. Newbies juicers might find it easy to use. It might not be the right decision for those who juice daily or more frequently and in large quantities. Is It Worth the Price? KitchenAid fans who own a stand mixer and want to juice regularly (but probably not every day), will enjoy this attachment. It is affordable compared to buying a dedicated juicing appliance while saving on space. The worst? They are fiddly, felt overengineered and require ingredients to be chopped up into tiny pieces first to squeeze down the food chute. Cleaning

All juicer parts are dishwasher safe with the exception of the drive assembly. 18 x 24.5 x 29.5cm H. 3.3kg. So how does that groove filter work in practice? Pretty well, mostly. Our carrot-orange and strawberry-pineapple juices were both quite delicious, with a fine pulp that added some texture without being chewy. But it had more trouble with the green juice, leaving behind some unpleasant chunks of kale. All in all, the H101 could be a great choice if you make many different juices frequently—it saves a lot of time and effort on cleaning, but it's also quite pricy. Non-slip feet Most juicers we tested have these. They are usually small rubber pads or suction cups that help to keep your juicer stable during use.

While many masticating juicers rely only on a crushing action, the Greenstar Elite’s dual-gear, double-auger design was made to crush, cut, and grind at the same time, but slowly and gently enough that it doesn't heat up and damage the flavor and nutrients in the juice. It's great for hard carrots, fibrous greens, and even notoriously difficult-to-juice wheatgrass. The green juice we got out of the Greenstar was the best of our tests—smooth, pulp-free, homogenized, and delicious. When it comes to cleaning, this juicer has lots of parts that all have to be washed by hand. Everything is simple to take apart and the kit includes a brush and scraper that are really effective in removing debris, but the whole process is time-consuming. One other small but annoying issue is that despite all those other accessories, the Greenstar Elite doesn't include a cup to hold pulp. (It's easy enough to put your own measuring cup under the chute, but what gives?) Remember, this is an ‘attachment’ not a stand alone appliance. It is designed differently to a typical juicer and works in a unique way. The key is to mix it up, prepare the produce to make it easy on the motor and everything will work a charm.Choose from Artisan mixers and Classic models. There are also Mini models, which are the most competitively priced and are ideal for kitchens with limited unit and worktop space. While red is the most recognisable colour of mixer, you can choose from a selection of other colours including a striking twilight blue or a subtle honeydew green. Whether you are looking to match your mixer to your dcor or to your existing appliances and accessories, there are colours to match, and we have a large selection to choose from here at ECookShop.
