In addition to the Coach of the Year, the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards will also present Conference Coach of the Year Awards from each of the Power Five collegiate athletic conferences (Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and Southeastern Conference) and one from the Group of Five conferences (American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference and Sun Belt Conference).

Year of the Bear is a comfortably short collection of stories with one thing in common - Whether the star of the show or a forgotten thought in the deepest night, bears can be found in all of these stories. A curious concept for such a collection that intrigues and and welcomes you into its arms with a full range of emotion and lots of characters and stories.

Jason and Kyle were, for the most part, sympathetic characters whose stories drew me in. I enjoyed watching their growth as a family unit, and felt invested in the continuing subplot with Jason’s mom. At the same time, it was really neat to see how Sasquot, Zephyr and Autumn formed an extended family for Jason and his dad.
