The relationship between Nanami and Tomoe is one of the most strange, amusing, and interesting part of the series. A human and a familiar relationship has trouble written all over it especially the gap of difference between the two. Nanami is a normal human girl who has normal skills in life with normal friends attending a normal school. On the other hand, Tomoe is a supernatural being with supernatural abilities and able to accomplish feats with supernatural degrees. The opening is a bit, I don’t know. It’s just a bit confusing. It’s all images of her with a song about being a girl and just starting to be a girl? I’m confused as to what the opening was supposed to do as they don’t really do anything but show this young girl. It didn’t fit the show at all making me want to skip it every time. Other then that, the animation and everything reminds me of a lot of other shows out there with a supernatural spoof. It’s dark in a colorful atmosphere. It’s hard to explain as the darkness is just the addition of dark purples and blues but then the brightness of those colors pop. In artist terms, the supernatural part of the show is dark hues and the brighter everyday parts are more of lighter shades of pastels and such.

good series, it just got better and better the more I read. After watching the anime, I thought it would just be a straight-up fluffly love story, but it turned out to be a lot more complex than I thought. In my view, though there is a strong romantic element, the story is really more about companionship than romance specifically. Loneliness and trust are big themes that pop up repeatedly throughout the series.

Interest Stacks

Before I started reading the manga, I watched the anime, which was simply filled with great character development. It leaked on story, though, so I decided to read the manga. I am definitely not disappointed. The manga story later on focuses on romance, but not in a cheesy way. Some things I'm not personally satisfied with are for e.g. some action scenes, and the art style in general. But, compared to some other art I've seen so far, it's still well done. In the manga Nanami and Tomoe grow and the character development goes on. I can't say often enough how much I like the The development does not end between the two main characters. It is also important to note that the side characters in this manga have their important roles and growths with interactions with the main characters. Villains are seen in different lights, and there is nothing more complex than the thinning of who's good and bad. In the end, the shoujo tropes that engulf the characters are merely the tip of the iceberg, a counter top, a topsoil to their being. As the story digs deeper, as adventures become parts of the past, the characters grow on you, and such earned concern becomes a gear to curiosity about how everything, how everyone will turn out in the end. High schooler Nanami Momozono has quite a few problems of late, beginning with her absentee father being in such extreme debt that they lose everything. Downtrodden and homeless, she runs into a man being harassed by a dog. After helping him, she explains her situation, and to her surprise, he offers her his home in gratitude. But when she discovers that said home is a rundown shrine, she tries to leave; however, she is caught by two shrine spirits and a fox familiar named Tomoe. They mistake her for the man Nanami rescued—the land god of the shrine, Mikage. Realizing that Mikage must have sent her there as a replacement god, Tomoe leaves abruptly, refusing to serve a human. Throughout the anime, she is a loving and fiercely protective person of those she cares about. Her optimistic and kind-hearted nature drives her to do what she can to help those in trouble, much to the irritation of Tomoe, her white fox familiar. All the characters in KH are all lovable, and even the are antagonists. There's only a very thin line between good and evil, which I love. Everyone's feelings seem real, and they're very well developed.

Kamisama Kiss began its serialization run in 2008 during the sixth issue of the semi-monthly shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume. The collected chapters were later republished in tankōbon volumes by Hakusensha with the first volume released on September 19, 2008. North American publisher, Viz Media licensed the English language distributions rights at the 2009 New York Anime Festival. The Tengu of Kurama Mountain hold Nanami in adoration, calling her "Tennin" or "Celestial Maiden" / "Fairy". With her help the Tengu's beloved (and long dormant) thousand-year-old sakura tree was able to bloom once again. As a result, the Tengu children call her "elder sister" and describe her as being beautiful and warm.

For the two main characters they might not be unique in originality but they are presented in a dynamic way which makes the reading all the much better. We get to know them more and more as the story progress and we see them grow – and they don't simply maintain the same outlook or personality that they had from the beginning. Nanami seems to learn through the movements of things, and responds well to competition. She also has a habit of bragging about her ability and talismans.

Nanami and Tomoe gets married and Tomoe started working at a office but 10 years after he decides to quit so that he can spend time with his wife. When Tomoe found out about the gender of their child he hoped that they would be just like Nanami etc. When Nanami was a child, she was deeply affected and influenced by her mother, Kumimi Momozono as Nanami listened when she told her to "never trust papa, never tell him where the money is even if he begs you" and "grow up and don't ruin your health like mama, grow up and become an adult on your own".

In the manga, Tomoe's eyes are portrayed as being yellowish or even green in color, but in the anime and some of the covers of the manga, his eyes are a purple color. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Tomoe's unbound abilities elevate him very nearly to a god himself, and a short-tempered one at that. His powers, charm, and good looks make him highly desirable as a shinshi among the many envious gods of he and Nanami's acquaintance, and a source of terror to other yokai. I enjoyed it so much I finished it in a whole day! It just lured me in, it made me cry, it made me gasp out loud, it made me squirm of joy and excitement as if I was actually watching something.
