The glen scotia and tamadhu were good, but I felt were quite similar. This one being the most different would probably make it a good serious sipper, and I did prefer it to the Tamadhu, but it wasn't to my personal liking enough to be buying a full bottle. It wasn’t until 1881 that whisky-making restarted, when a group of Edinburgh investors, seeing the rise in blended whisky sales, came on board. Under the eye of MajorJames Grey the plant was rebuilt and expanded into its current form in 1890. Tried this alongside a tamadhu and a glen scotia dram, and this was probably the most "different" to what I've tasted in the past.

Its time as a single malt brand only came in 1998, when it was chosen ahead of Rosebank as the Lowland representative within Diageo’s Classic Malt Selection.
