Description

SureSafe has a broad range of personal alarms to suit different needs, health conditions and lifestyles. Whether you are an older adult that would like reassurance you can get help from the home or garden, or an older adult with an active lifestyle that wants an alarm for when you are ‘out and about’ – we can help. We offer some of the best personal alarms in the UK where you can select features that are designed to offer the maximum level of safety for you, as well as peace of mind for you and your family. In addition to the Minuet Watch and the MyAmie Pendant, we also offer an automatic Fall Detector alarm. This device provides an extra layer of reassurance for the user and their family.

Cons: Light alone may not work for everyone, on-device controls aren't intuitive, may disturb your partner Just like the other alarms we've discussed, the Fall Detector can be worn on the wrist like a watch. However, unlike the Minuet and the MyAmie, it can detect when the user has a fall. It's programmed to the wearer's height and contains a sensor that will automatically raise the alarm when it detects a sudden drop. There's an optional "smart wake" feature on the alarm that will detect when you're in a lighter stage of your sleep cycle and will wake you up then, up to 30 minutes before your alarm is scheduled to go off. This is supposed to make you feel less groggy than if you woke from a deeper sleep. I liked that this alarm was pretty customizable for the price. You can wake up with just the vibration or a buzzing sound or combine them. The tone of the buzzer can be changed, and you can opt to turn the flashing lights on or off. Please note: the Minuet Watch functions exactly the same as our standard MyAmie pendant. It is not a fall detector alarm. MyAmie Pendant

It's not exactly a pleasant way to wake up, and the vibration isn't silent either. But for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, a physical alarm that isn't sound-based could be useful if a light-based alarm isn't reliable enough. Our alarms are linked to one of two UK based monitoring centres. Having two separate centres means that we can always be online in the unlikely event that one of the centres ever experience a technical issue. Special features: I tested features such as Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity, accompanying mobile apps, wind-down programs, and night lights to see if they were helpful and simple to use. Cons: Requires regular charging, can't adjust the size, many phones need a third-party app to not disturb your partner
