The next thing that I urgently need to do is to add some direct outs and need to upgrade at least one preamp channel, as I really only need a single boom mic, other channels will be wireless. As an aside, when I wrote Behringer asking for their service manual / schematics, they refused based upon intellectual property issues, which I thought was pretty damned funny. I take the balanced output of this mixer into my digital audio interface for capture into my PC for editing. Thought I’d mention my findings with the battery power option (seeing as that’s one of the main USP’s of this product).

In this way, consumers give each other guidance and give us the opportunity to continuously improve. I have definitely seen the mixer and would have wanted to post the pic myself but dont know if I can post pics here. It would have been much better to power this with a USB port so you could use an external power pack. This is becoming common--when one of my studio monitors died, a Dynaudio unit, TC Electronic refused to give (or sell) my tech a schematic he could use to fix it.

So long story short, I purchased a really cool little mixer last year, a Studer / Revox 6 channel jobbie that is supposed to have super sweet preamps and all types of direct outputs, slate ability, etc. I have no idea if you have had a look at a picture of this mixer, or read the user manual, but if you had, you will see that channels 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 have the dual numbering system as I have written. As a result, they have one of the lowest product failure rates in the industry, and confidently back it up with a generous 3-Year Warranty program.
