Half way through the book I was still confused as to who the main love interest was and it was unclear if Shelbly found him to be her ex-stepbrother or a potential romance partner. Miles has loved Shelby for years and he knows she was hurt by his actions but he only wanted to protect her and make her happy. Josh had always considered Beth as someone he could easily talk to, someone to hang out with and have fun. One piece of the writing that had a lack of creativity to the point that I decided to two-star the review instead of giving it three-stars is that the author had 9 different characters or locations with names that all started with the letter J, including a character named Jordan and a town named Jordan. and don’t even get me started on abigail’s chapters… they added nothing to the book and were completely unnecessary… and she’s not even a big character like i get she’s supposed to be friends with shelby but that relationship never developed.

I was alternating between feeling sorry for Beth, and wondering why she didn't just tell Josh the secret. The entire story takes place over the course of about a week and is largely predicated on the fmc, Beth, running away.
