Early on, you can dress up Jacob as Sherlock Holmes, don Cthulhu-inspired tentacular brass knuckles, and hunt down occultists with Charles Dickens. However a weak, badly paced story, and two uninspired protagonists hold it back from being a great Assassin’s Creed. The various fight clubs show off the game’s simple but solid combat engine, with a host of excellent attacks, counters and finishers.
