So far, I've only seen the wireless Xbox USB dongle working with PCs, but I guess there's no reason it wouldn't work on Mac as well.

The RB2 bass pedal is metal plated to prevent breaking like the RB drumset owners experienced numerous times.I bought the drumkit as I was planning on using it for Rock Band 2, and I have not (fully) regretted it! Just looking for advice from anyone who might have experience either just playing these kits with the game, or with regards to how they handle MIDI (wirelessly or wired). This list is by no means complete, but we've done the testing ourselves, so it's accurate and 100% speculation-free. Now that I want to use it, I hold the home button down and it flashes really quickly, like it does when the batteries are dead, but will do no more. When I first finished the assemblies in the previous step I placed the piezos in the drum head(s) under pressure.

I've connected one of the old Rock Band sets as a MIDI controller, and to be honest I didn't find much use for it. These can be either a Guitar Hero drum controller ( World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, or Logitech), or a Rock Band drum controller.I was using one of the original ones which didn't have any velocity sensitivity on it; I understand that the newer ones have a basic velocity sensor but they don't seem to be overly sensitive. it is a little hard to get used to having only 3 drum pads, but then you have cymbols for a total of 5 pads, plus kick pedal. It could be fixed readily at the manufacturing level, I think, but that begs the question of units already produced. A couple of weeks ago I bought the "Rock Hero Warriors Of Rock" box for PS3 that included the drum kit - 3 pads, 2 cymbals, 1 kick pedal.

I've finally got round to tidying up my spare room properly (sort of) and found a replacement Guitar Hero drum/cymbal set for the Xbox 360 that I never used as I fixed my original set. To activate star power on a Guitar Hero drum kit, both the yellow and orange cymbals have to be hit at the same time.

In terms of compatibility, if you get the Rock Band 2 drums on the PS2/PS3, they should work on the Guitar Hero games that support drums (Guitar Hero World Tour, Metallica, Smash Hits, Van Halen, GH5, Band Hero). Lacking musical education and never having held drumsticks in my hands before I was a bit concerned. I connected this to the MIDI IN on my TD-6 and found that they perfectly triggered the snare, tom 1, tom2, open hi-hat, crash 1 and kick drum.

While the Rock Band drum kit opted for a more conventional four-pad arrangement, the Guitar Hero kit utilizes three pads and two cymbals.

Expert+ (also written as "Expert +") has the same standard notes as regular Expert but includes double bass. However, much like their real-life counterparts, the snare and tom pads must be stuck with significant force to get the full sound of the instrument. Still leaning towards the Logitech kit, though I can't find any examples of anyone using it for MIDI (though I see there is a MIDI port on the back, not sure if it's In or Out). Now I have a Roland TD-11KV, but my dad uses it more than I do, he was hating the look of it at first but when he hit the snare the first time he was on there for at least 3 hours straight LOL.
