Every game I tested has a minimum of 32% increase in FPS by I'm blown away by the power of the card Content Creation Powerhouse:** Beyond gaming, the RTX 4090 OC Edition shines as a content creation powerhouse. Whether you're a video editor, 3D modeler, or streamer, the card's formidable performance and features enhance your productivity and creativity. Cutting-Edge Ray Tracing:** Embrace the future of gaming visuals with real-time ray tracing. The RTX 4090 OC Edition takes advantage of hardware-accelerated ray tracing to deliver lifelike lighting, reflections, and shadows that bring your virtual worlds to life like never before.

If you're here, you probably already know precisely what the 4090 is and does. Key takeaways for this TUF variant are that it performs as advertised, is very large and runs relatively cool. Replaced a 10GB 3080, hesitantly, to take full advantage of the 5k+ resolution of a new VR headset. The 3080 just didn't have the stomach for those resolutions. This card pushes 3300x3300 (per eye!) without breaking a sweat in the racing sims and roomscale experiences I've thrown at it. It's almost comical just how much memory and how powerful this GPU has and is. Asus has expanded the company's GeForce RTX 40-series product portfolio with two new RTX 4090 graphics cards. The ROG Strix LC GeForce RTX 4090 and TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 OC, which are available in regular and OC editions, have arrived to compete in the high-end segment. What makes these cards notable, in turn, is their reduced size: the new cards are physically smaller than Asus' early RTX 4090 offerings, as well as many of the competitors on the market.By most accounts, Asus's current RTX 4090 cooler is highly effective – it's just also really big. So offering a separate SKU with a smaller cooler makes a good deal of sense, especially given how popular NVIDIA's true triple-slot Founders Edition card has been. The smaller TUF cooler is rated for the same 450W TDP as the larger TUF 4090 cooler, but, as always, there may be performance/acoustic tradeoffs involved.

It runs surprisingly cool, even with low fan speed. My case is not spacious, but I have not seen a rise in CPU, motherboard or RAM temps compared to having the 3080 in there. It can get noisy when hot enough for the fans to start ramping up. There is definitely a little coil whine, but I run my case fans relatively high to begin with and am not noticing it any more than I did with my TUF 3080. Those who like dead-silent systems may want to look elsewhere, but I really think the issue is overblown unless my experience is the exception. The sheer power of this thing is insane. It stays nice and cool, and actually is very power efficient. Running MW2 on a 5800X3D, on extreme settings (3440x1440) with DLSS quality mode enabled, it maxes out at around 280W which is less than the 2080Ti it replaced. Whilst running it at 200+FPS, far more than the Ti was capable of. Throw whatever you want at this card, and it will ask "is that all?" by Ridiculous in the best possible way Prepare to be blown away by the sheer power and innovation of the GeForce RTX® 4090 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card. This exceptional piece of technology redefines the gaming experience, delivering unparalleled performance, stunning visuals, and advanced features that cater to even the most demanding gamers. Here's why the GeForce RTX® 4090 OC Edition deserves its place among the gaming elite:

It's heavy. Thankfully it comes with a support that works very well. Once in place, there is no concern about the load being put on the PCIe slot. This is notable because the TUF cooler used on the 3090 Ti was a good bit smaller than Asus's first RTX 4090 cooler. The net result is that these changes bring the new OG card's width from 3.65-slots (and arguably, wide enough that you need to leave a 4th slot open for air flow) down to 3.2 slots - just enough room for proper airflow if the neighboring 4th sot is occupied. Altogether, the OG modelis smaller in every dimension, shaving off 6% of its height, 7% of its length, and 13% of its width. Asus doesn't list the weight of its graphics cards, so we cannot comment on whether the new OG version has lost weight. High-Quality Ray-Traced Audio:** The card's advanced audio capabilities don't just stop at visuals. Ray-traced audio adds a new dimension to your gaming experience, creating immersive soundscapes that draw you deeper into your virtual worlds. Support and Ecosystem:** NVIDIA's ongoing driver support and collaboration with game developers ensure that your RTX 4090 OC Edition remains optimized for the latest titles and updates. The vibrant NVIDIA community also offers a space for sharing experiences and insights. I was able to easily fit it in my ROG Strix case though, smaller cases will definitely have a problem getting it in.

For reference, I play on a 4k 144 mhz monitor I tested all games in max details and if raytracing was available set to max and if dlss available, set to quality. Asus's other new RTX 4090 card, the air-cooled TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 OG, is a unique case of its own. Technically, it's a new SKU; however, the graphics card reuses the TUF Gaming cooler from the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3090 Ti.

AI-Powered Enhancements:** Thanks to NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), the RTX 4090 OC Edition uses AI to upscale lower-resolution images in real-time, resulting in improved image quality and performance. This feature is a game-changer for both gaming and content creation. Power requirement. You need 600W dedicated purely to this card if you want to make full use of its potential. That includes 4 SEPARATE dedicated 8-pin PCIe connectors running from your ATX 2.0 PSU's VGA/PCIe/CPU outputs to the 12VHPWR connector that comes with the card. Alternatively, newer ATX 3.0 PSUs come with the 12VHPWR standard, I believe. I went ahead and upgraded to a 1000w gold PSU. 850w minimum spec made me nervous with OC'd CPU and all other cards/USB devices considered.
