About this deal

Let’s cut to the chase: the 55A7GQ’s picture quality turns out to be hugely disappointing, especially as it arrives amid a generally upward trajectory for Hisense TVs. Our guess would be that the 55A7GQ’s issues are down to a combination of its IPS panel and its budget QD colour system. Assuming we’re correct on this, it’s ironic that the IPS panel doesn’t even seem to deliver the viewing angle advantage we’d normally expect such a panel to provide. Contrast clearly becomes even worse if you watch the 55A7GQ from even a slight angle. The Hisense 50E77HQTUK QLED Gaming Series TV is designed specifically for gamers and shows in its performance. The TV’s Game Mode reduces input lag and improves response time, making it an excellent choice for gaming. The TV’s Quantum Dot Technology and Dolby Vision HDR also provide exceptional color accuracy and contrast, enhancing the overall gaming experience. The TV’s 60Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and seamless motion during fast-paced action scenes. Picture Settings The rest of the VIDAA U4 experience is basically fine, and if that sounds like damning with faint praise, then it probably is. It’s usable, responsive and pleasant looking but, as with many TV UIs, we aren't convinced that the content suggestions are all that helpful, particularly when they require subscriptions and rental fees to access them. We do, at least, like that the content is grouped by genre and that it’s made clear which service they’re on before you select them.

Performance

The Hisense 50E77HQTUK QLED Gaming Series TV is highly competitive compared to other brands. Its picture quality, sound quality, and features are on par with other high-end TV brands such as Samsung and LG. However, the Hisense TV is more affordable than these brands, making it an attractive option for customers looking for a more reasonably priced high-quality TV. We’re now onto VIDAA U 5.0 and if there’s a difference between this version and previous one, then I’m not seeing it. That said, despite its plain appearance, there’s no argument about navigation and operation. The VIDAA interface is easy to use and there’s something to be said about an interface that settles for that level of simplicity. Quantum Dot Get closer to reality with over a billion true-to-life colours. Experience a wider palette of colour up to 100% (typical value) under the DCI-P3 standard ensures smoother gradients whilst reds, greens and blues appear more vivid and realistic.

We didn’t have any issues at all with VIDAA which stands up against other providers such as Android. Hisense competes with premium TV brands on the price front by offering 4K UHD TVs at a fraction of what it used to cost. Though it still may have a worthy opposition in Xiaomi that has made a name for itself in budget smart LED TVs.Of all the TV's sound modes, Theatre gives the best possible sense of space and, even if weightless and uninspiring, at least the dialogue and the rest of the audio is easy to hear. As the outstanding balance, plus the interest now form part of your payable balance they will attract interest Considering it's one of Hisense’s top-end TVs, there's no getting around the fact that the 55U7QFTUK is a disappointment. We’re told these features are in “the early stages of development”, but for now it’s probably better to give them a wide berth. Switch to standard-def content from the built-in tuner and the Hisense copes much better, largely because the higher frame rate of the signal requires less processing from the TV, and the motion smearing issue is almost gone. Unfortunately, there’s also a loss in terms of colour depth and accuracy. The crash scene on Xandar at the end of the film is a good place to spot this. The three way close-ups between the blue-faced Yondu, green-skinned Gamora and Peter Quill’s human complexion are off the mark. The balance between them is even but each feels slightly off the hue that they should be. It has a strong feature set and performs fairly well in some aspects, but the smeary motion undoes a lot of the good work the set does elsewhere. Inside this set is a digital tuner, with the Freeview Play service built-in. As ever, it makes for a usable EPG and a decent set of catch-up services, however, the VIDAA U4 Smart TV operating system comes up short on apps. Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube are all present, but notable absentees include Now TV, BT Sport, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV and Disney+.
