About this deal

Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. You might assume that the same fate faces its 42-inch sibling. However, LG’s 42-inch OLEDs have always been a somewhat different proposition to their larger siblings, and while the 42-inch C3 is certainly very similar to its predecessor, its price is practically the same as before and, even more crucially, it doesn’t have significant new rivals to worry about. Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for four months in our Accelerated Longevity Test.

If you decide that the built-in speakers don’t quite cut it, the Nano91 houses an eARC HDMI port via which into which you can connect one of our favourite soundbars. The eARC port is one of four HDMI inputs on the Nano91, two of which are 2.1 certified. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC. Those are some pretty competitive prices, but if you’re willing to spend a little bit extra, you can nab yourself one of LG’s stunning OLEDs. The LG B1 – the model down from our favourite TV of 2021, the LG C1 – features a similar list of specifications as the Nano91 but uses an Organic LED panel in place of an LCD LED NanoCell panel. That pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, coupled with the panel’s refresh rate of 120Hz and support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), AMD’s FreeSync Premium and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), make the Nano91 an excellent choice for gamers. It’s also free from the potential screen burn that can affect OLED TVs, and features LG’s “Game Optimiser” mode that can be activated to automatically adjust settings based on the genre of game you’re playing. LG boasts an extensive OLED range but NanoCell models such as the LG Nano91 offer a more wallet-friendly entry point into the company’s TV lineup. The Nano91’s panel can’t achieve the searing brightness or exceptional contrast of its OLED stablemates but is still able to deliver impressive picture quality and a host of smart features. One thing to note is, the C1 supports VRR, AMD FreeSync and G-Sync, along with HDMI 2.1 for 4K at 120Hz. The QNED99 also supports HDMI 2.1 with 4K at 120Hz, however it does not support VRR, AMD FreeSync or G-Sync. This is a shame for a TV that does support the game optimiser mode, and especially for a 2021 TV costing as much as it does. Reflections Right, let’s take a look at how both of these TVs handle 4K and HDR content. These will be your movies and TV shows. I mainly watch Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime, all of which support 4K, so this should give a good example of the picture quality.

Another attractive alternative is the Sony Bravia XR X90J. Like the LG Nano91, the X90J is a 4K LCD LED TV with full-array local dimming and support for 4K resolution at 120Hz. It’s crammed full of Sony picture and audio enhancement technologies, supports Dolby Atmos and has two HDMI 2.1 ports, ensuring it can take advantage of the power of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next-gen consoles. We confirmed that the LG QNED90 is now fully compatible with the Xbox Series S|X, including Dolby Vision gaming at up to 4k @ 120Hz.Dimensions, weight and color Information about the dimensions and the weight of the specific model with and without stand as well as the colors, in which it is offered to the market. Width There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used. The QNED99 has a 60W 4.2 down firing speaking setup which supports Dolby Atmos. Whereas the C1 has a 40W 2.2 down firing speaker setup, also supporting Dolby Atmos. The C1 does change to front firing with the stand installed too. Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. The LG Nano91sits at the top of LG’s 4K 2021 NanoCell range and is powered by the company’s α7 Gen4 Processor 4K. It boasts support for the Dolby Vision IQ, Cinema HDR, HDR10 Pro and HLG HDR formats and its panel features Full Array Dimming, which allows precise control of individual LED brightness, resulting in improved contrast and increased picture detail.
