Sulla rappresentazione femminile all'interno del libro potrei cominciare una guerra, sinceramente mi ha delusa tantissimo questo aspetto. I doppi standard si ripresentano continuamente. I respect your opinion and I do agree with you: this book (just like any other) is not for everyone, but I couldn’t leave without saying anything. I adore the cold and hard Thorn and his very subtle softening toward Ophelia. It doesn't happen swiftly and it isn't evident very much. He is a hard worker though and comes to respect Ophelia and that I really admire! The harder they are the more gooey they are inside... I see a lot of people in the comments saying they won’t read the book because of this review (which is valid), but I advice for anyone who’s reading this to try for themselves.

The Missing of Clairdelune, trans. Hildegarde Serle, Europa Editions, 540p, 2019 ( ISBN 9781609455071) Long ago, following a cataclysm called the Rupture, the world was shattered into many floating celestial islands, now known as arks. Over each, the spirit of an omnipotent and immortal ancestor abides. The inhabitants of these arks each possess a unique power. Ophelia, with her ability to read the pasts of objects, must navigate this fantastic, disjointed, perilous world using her trademark tenacity and quiet strength. I knew once Archibald showed up and joked about taking advantage of Ophelia things weren't going to be good. I should've called it quits right then. The guidebooks are very easy to use. They are designed to make WP a curriculum with minimal teacher preparation work. Each guidebook directs you in the use of quite a number of books and resources—some created by WinterPromise and some from other publishers. Lose yourself in the fantastic world of the arks and in the company of unforgettable characters in this French runaway hit. Renard –A member of the Dragon House and Thorn’s cousin, he is a dashing and charming man who becomes a potential romantic interest for Ophelia. The heroine's opinion is constantly overlooked, even when she expresses clearly her disapproval, which is rare enough already. The members of her family repeatedly state how she must : I don't know why I've never read much from the steampunk genre (let alone French steampunk, from which this story is translated). Steampunk is a literary movement that mixes fantasy and science fiction. I'd reference it as uchronia, refering to the Industrial Revolution with reminders of the Victorian Era. This is how I project in my mind the colossal work of author Christelle Dabos, who managed to write a steampunk story that stands out among its own genre.

Pfffff. J'en peux plus de ces gens. Donnez moi des nuances, faites moi croire en vos personnages. Ces marionnettes en papier mâché ont cessé de m'amuser bien trop vite.Ophelia’s role is to spy on the other Arks for Thorn’s family and discover what they are keeping secret. In an effort to protect her own family and find out the truth about her new spouse, she unwillingly agrees to the duty, but she subsequently regrets it. Les disparus du Clairdelune, Gallimard Jeunesse, Collection Romans Ado, 560p, 2015, ( ISBN 9782070661985) She is no longer the same person she was when she first stepped foot on the Ark of the Pole because of the growth and changes she has through on her voyage. There seemed to be no point to this book. The plot was unclear and odd, taking twists and turned whenever the author pleased. Once I thought it was about this thing, something else would take the stage.
