About this deal

Our bolt-cropping rig has to be capable of out-performing hand-operated bolt croppers, so the one we’ve used is a hydraulic jaw that cuts like a bolt cropper, but is capable of applying in excess of 250 kiloNewtons of pressure. That’s around the equivalent of a 1.5m-long set of bolt croppers operated by a couple of contestants from World’s Strongest Man. Tensile pull test

first of all thank you a lot for this massively informative post and your effort answering all these questions! And btw: nice name! 😉 The Homie, at 1.5m long, is designed to thread through multiple bikes, and as the name suggests, is for home use. Links: Chains are made up of links; hoops joined together. The smaller the internal diameter of the links the better, as this gives less space for a lever that can be used to break the link to be inserted Here you go, pictures of the bike in general and the battery. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/g7i62qymu7hedti/AAAZBz6DZrlZq1WJPhAFmuLga?dl=0

Alternatives to the Abus Granit X Plus 540

Plus the high build quality means it's unlikely to let you down in adverse weather conditions or seize up as it gets older.

They tend to fare worse in frame mounts too. This is because their center of gravity is further from the frame, so they're more likely to move around and work loose. Is there no way your daughter could bring the bike into the hospital grounds at least? It has to go in the street? I wholeheartedly recommend the Abus Granit X Plus 540. But as always, there are alternatives… Alternatives to the Abus Granit X Plus 540 Big thanks to Piaggio and repair/claims specialist 4th Dimension for supplying parts that allowed us to carry out real-world testing. Both are companies who, among others in the moped, scooter and motorcycle industry, are passionate about reducing crime.

I’m really sorry to hear your bike was stolen. But I would say three things in response to your comments: That’s not to say it’s not a useful article! I think it is. I learned a lot from it. And I’ll be investigating further some of the information in it. And while it's not cheap, the high build quality means that not only is it very secure, it's also extremely reliable. Beyond this it displays the usual Abus high build quality which means it will be dependable in all weather conditions and should last many years to come. To keep the cost down there's no frame mount supplied with the Mason. But you can buy one separately. And it's highly adjustable so you should be able to find a position that works on any bike.

Heavy weight yet easy open

And it comes with a steel cable to secure your other wheel. Although these cables can be cut very easily, they do provide some (mostly psychological!) protection. The real advantage the Brute has over its rivals is in the price. At around half the price of the New York standard and much less than half the price of the Granit X-Plus 540, it’s an absolute bargain! Moreover, the fantastic build quality guarantees long term reliability, and it comes with a choice from two of the very best frame mounts. Nearly ten years later and the situation has changed. In some towns and cities, it feels like every bike thief is using an angle grinder.
