Suretherm Anti Condensation Paint is an internal water-based emulsion that is specifically designed to help deal with internal mould and damp caused by condensation. It significantly reduces condensation by absorbing any heat that would ordinarily escape through the wall, thanks to its glass microsphere technology. These glass microspheres become charged like a battery by any heat that passes through them. This heat is absorbed and retained in the coating, which works to evaporate any condensation that attempts to form on the treated surface. Anti-mould paint protects walls and ceilings from mould, and is especially useful for applying in areas where there is a history of mould growth and/or as a prevention in notoriously prone areas, particularly bathrooms and kitchens where there is generally high condensation and humidity. The paint helps eliminate the moisture which contributes to development of mould. This keeps you safe from respiratory problems caused by inhalation of mould spores, which can lead to very serious health risks. Both our standard “Anti-Mould Emulsion Paint” and our “Mould Cure”, create an active-film fungicide on the surface, upon which mould simply cannot grow. The “Thermapaint Anti-Mould” has the additional inclusion of vacuum ceramic micro-beads, which raise the surface temperature of the wall slightly, discouraging the formation of condensation on the painted surface. Add 60 grams to 5 litres to 120 grams to 10 litres of Kingfisher “Weatherflex” paint or similar quality exterior coating by stirring in (ideally with a power paddle) and apply by brush or roller to create a tough “mould-hostile” decorative finish. If necessary, apply an appropriate primer or sealer to bare metal or masonry surfaces. For new or porous plaster surfaces thin the first coat if necessary according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow enough time to dry thoroughly. The problem with anti-mould paint is that you’re limited to the colours available- the selection is no war near as generous as regular emulsion. An anti-mould additive solves that problem, because you can add it to any regular emulsion.
