Just because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect. The following side effect is known to be associated with this medicine. In conditions such as eczema, using moisturisers and moisturising bath oils regularly, even once the skin has improved, can help prevent flare-ups. Important information about Balneum bath oil AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, a light, paraffin-free emollient which has all the benefits of colloidal oat including protecting and restoring the skin barrier, soothing the itch, irritation and redness associated with dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, as well as having humectant properties and maintaining the skin’s normal pH. As well as being a moisturiser it can also be used as an effective soap substitute, to prevent the skin from drying out further.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. You may use Balneum whilst you are pregnant. Balneum Plus can also be used in the shower. In this case the preparation should first be evenly applied over the body without dilution. Subsequently the excess is removed under the shower. Soap, which would remove the desired oil film on the skin, should not be used. AproDerm Emollient Cream is slightly richer than AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, however, is still light and easily absorbed, whilst being cooling and moisturising. It can also be used as an effective soap substitute, to prevent the skin from drying out further. After bathing or showering gently pat dry with a towel. If you wipe or rub your skin too much the Balneum Plus will not work as well. This list may not include all of the side effects reported by the medicines's manufacturer. For more information about any other possible risks associated with this medicine, please read the information provided with the medicine or consult your doctor or pharmacist. How can Balneum bath oil affect other medicines?

Please note that parcels weighing over 2kg may be sent via courier due to Royal Mail weight restrictions. Balneum bath oil contains soya oil and is used to treat dry skin conditions. It is added to bath water to moisturise dry skin. It works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. The bathtub, shower and children's bathtub (if applicable) should be cleaned immediately after every bath using conventional household detergent and then rinsed out with hot water. The perfume contains benzylbenzoate which may be mildly irritant to the skin, eyes and mucousmembranes. Avoid getting Balneum in your eyes, however, if this should occur, rinse immediately with clean water. If eye irritation remains please see your doctor. There are currently no other medicines available in the UK that contain soya oil as the active ingredient. All full baths - including those to which Balneum Medicinal Bath Oil has been added - should only be taken after consultation with your doctor in the following cases: major skin injuries, acute skin diseases of unknown cause, feverish and infectious diseases, heart failure and high blood pressure.

Always clean the bath immediately after you have used Balneum. To do this, rinse the bath andequipment thoroughly with hot water and then clean with a household cleaner. Pour the appropriate amount of Balneum liquid into the bath as the bath is filling, be careful the water is not too hot. Balneum Plus is also an excellent cleanser, which helps to protect the skin against further drying. The bath additive rapidly relieves the symptoms associated with dry, itchy skin and helps to cleanse the skin. This is particularly important for people who have eczema and dermatitis, as these skin conditions can make the skin more susceptible to infection. Balneum Plus helps to protect the skin from further damage and infection, making it an essential product for anyone who suffers from these conditions. When using this oil in the bath or shower take care to avoid slipping, especially when getting in or out, as this preparation may make the bath or shower more slippery than usual. Frequency and duration of the application should be adjusted according to the type and severity of the condition, adults should use the bath oil frequently (at least 3 times per week) whilst neonates and infants should be treated daily. There are no known interactions when using Balneum with other medicines but please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. If only a small area of skin is affected, you may be able to bathe the affected area in a bowl or sink. After bathing gently pat dry with a towel. If you wipe or rub your skin too much the Balneumwill not work as well.
